80% HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: A new level of luxury
Źródło: PC World angielski EN→PL
The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook has a lot going for it despite the high price tag. The keyboard is wonderful to use, the hardware chews through 20+ open browser tabs like a champ, and the spacious touch-enabled display produces sharp images. The only real sticking point is the price, as it’s prohibitively expensive for a Chromebook. The trackpad could provide stronger feedback, too. This machine is designed with specific folks in mind, namely young professionals. That said, if money is no object, then this is one of the most luxurious Chromebooks money can buy.

HP’s Elite Dragonfly Chromebook Is Pleasant To Use, But It’S Far Too Expensive
Źródło: Reviewed.com angielski EN→PL
The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is a great Chromebook—perhaps even the best, depending on your needs. It’s fast, has an attractive display, and delivers a solid keyboard and touchpad. It’s a pleasant laptop that I genuinely enjoyed using. It’s just a shame about the price. This Chromebook would be a hit at $700 or $800—and that’s not unrealistic. The new Acer Chromebook Spin 513 has an extremely similar display and is generally pleasant to use, but its performance is held back by a disappointing MediaTek Kompanio processor. HP’s Elite Dragonfly would be an appealing upgrade if the price was reasonable. Instead, the Elite Dragonfly tries (and fails) to compete with laptops like the Dell XPS 13 and Apple MacBook Air M2. Both deliver better processor performance, superior graphics, and even longer battery life. They also run operating systems with access to a broader selection of apps and services. I like the Elite Dragonfly. But I can’t, under any circumstances, recommend spending actual money to buy it.

100% HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: The epitome of a high-end business Chromebook
Źródło: It Pro angielski EN→PL
From its understated ink-blue metal chassis to its specification, this is the epitome of a high-end business Chromebook. The downside is that it's priced to match -- and availability remains uncertain. As we went to press, all HP could confirm is that the range would start at £1,000, for the Core i3 model. The £1,299 figure for our tested Core i5 system is our best guess based on previous HP pricing. But one thing is certain: the Elite Dragonfly is as good as business Chromebooks get.

75% HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: The best of ChromeOS, but not worth the price
Źródło: Engadget angielski EN→PL
To be fair to HP, the company isn’t positioning this as a broad consumer device. It falls under their enterprise category, and I could imagine some businesses heavily invested in Google’s ecosystem buying these for executives. But, there’s no denying that, at this price point, ChromeOS is a compromise compared to Windows or macOS. In this way, HP’s Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is a lot like Google’s Chromebook Pixel: It’s the best Chromebook you can buy, and it shows how good the experience of using ChromeOS can be. But, it’s not so much better than the many other reasonably priced options out there for anyone to seriously consider unless they love ChromeOS and have money to burn.

HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: The best Chromebook, but one you probably shouldn’t buy
Źródło: Engadget angielski
HP’s Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is one of the nicest Chromebooks we’ve ever seen. It has a gorgeous screen, powerful internals, a great keyboard and trackpad and solid industrial design. It also has a jaw-dropping price, starting at well over $1,000. That’s a ton of money for any laptop, let alone one that runs ChromeOS. Google’s cloud-based operating system is mature, capable and easy to use, but we’re still looking at a laptop where the excellent hardware is held back by the software.

80% HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: The corner office Chromebook
Źródło: Laptop Mag angielski EN→PL
It’s tough to shake off the price of the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook, spending upwards of $1,200 on a Chrome OS laptop is a shock when even many of our best Chromebooks are in the $400-$600 range. If you are looking for a Chromebook for personal use, and money is even a slight consideration, then by all means choose another option; this isn’t the best choice for you. However, for business users, there is absolutely a case to be made for the Elite Dragonfly. Security is a significant portion of this with Intel’s vPro, Google’s Titan C chip protection, the built-in privacy shutter, and more. On top of that, you have the ease of managing Chrome OS over Windows. For smaller businesses, this is a win that could justify the cost of the Dragonfly in a couple of months. Those benefits are nice for the business, but for the individual user, you get a thin and light 2-in-1 laptop with outstanding durability and quality components that you simply don’t find in most Chromebooks. That includes the high-end look of a business laptop, so you aren’t left feeling out of place in a lineup of ThinkPads, ExpertBooks, and EliteBooks. Parallels ensures that you have all the Windows apps you need, but then you can retreat back to Chrome OS for web browsing, Google apps, content consumption, and Android apps.

85% HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook Review: It Checks All the Boxes
Źródło: CNet angielski EN→PL
Chromebooks were somewhat indistinguishable for several years after they first arrived in 2011. But as ChromeOS matured, higher-end Chromebooks started to show up more regularly. Although, even these premium models topped out at around $500, except for the occasional showpiece. The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is a showpiece, loaded with several design and technology pieces that will find their way into future Chromebooks for both business and personal use. It carries a hefty price tag that is likely too much for most people considering a Chromebook, even a premium model. But it's also worth every penny. Still, if it's too much, the next best options right now are the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 or the slightly less expensive Spin 513. You can also check out our list of top Chromebooks that we've tested.

60% The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is incredible — with one big problem
Źródło: The Verge angielski EN→PL
This is a beautiful device. HP has done what it can here — it made the most beautiful Chromebook I’ve ever used. But the desktop software that ChromeOS can offer isn’t worthy of this beauty — or this price. Again, I know some of my issues are nitpicky, but this is software that business users use every day and are being asked to pay very high prices to use. And I suspect that Google, having just canceled its next high-end Pixelbook product, may be coming to the same conclusion. I know fixes are coming. PWAs are on their way. Linux is becoming more accessible. Android apps on ChromeOS have come a long, long way since I first started reviewing them, and I’m sure they will come further still. This is a great and fun operating system to use. But it’s not ready for the C-suite just yet.

87% The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook has no business being this good
Źródło: Zdnet.com angielski EN→PL
The HP Elite Dragonfly breaks the mold of low-cost Chromebooks by surrounding the pure software experience with premium hardware. That said, the ideal customer is one whose workflow revolves around the internet (and cloud services), and wants a laptop that can last for years while looking as good as it operates. My main buying advice for the Elite Dragonfly is this: If possible, go with any of the upgraded configurations. Besides having an improved Intel processor, the higher-end options are equipped with brighter, anti-glare displays and more memory for performance and internal storage.

HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: the best you can get
Źródło: Chrome Unboxed angielski EN→PL
In the end, it’s still a Chromebook, so there are caveats that apply just like with any other device we review. There are software limitations that exist, though they’re falling away more and more as time passes. There’s Parallels for Windows apps, there’s the Linux container for development, there’s Steam Gaming on the way, there are multiple video editors coming soon, and the power of the web is only expanding as we move forward. The list of things you can’t do on a Chromebook is dwindling, so when we talk about value propositions, ChromeOS is far less of a deterrent for general users than it used to be. So if that’s the case, that means there is more of an argument for high-quality Chromebook hardware than there’s ever been before, and the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook leans completely into it. If you’re looking for the best deal and a way to get simple computing done on a budget, this clearly isn’t your device. But if you’re sold on the speed, simplicity, and security of ChromeOS and want hardware that comes without compromise, this is the Chromebook for you: even if it does cost a bit more.

HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook Review: The new poster child of Google-powered laptops
Źródło: XDA Developers angielski EN→PL
Without a new Pixelbook from Google, this is the new yardstick. This is the poster child for Chromebooks in 2022. Even if ChromeOS can’t truly use all that performance today, there will come a day it can. Sometimes parting with a review unit is especially hard because the device in question was so special. This was one of those times. The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is just that good.

90% HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: Changing the perception
Źródło: Android Central angielski EN→PL
When you look at everything that the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook has to offer, it's without a doubt, the most premium Chromebook that has come across our desk. There are a lot of highlights here, such as the sublime-to-use haptic trackpad, the multitude of configurations, and included USI Digital Pen. And the performance is everything you could want from a Chromebook being powered by Intel's latest chipset. Plus, it's likely only a matter of time before the Dragonfly gets "white-listed" for the Steam Alpha program. But just because the Dragonfly has all of these extra features, does that necessarily mean that it's the best? That's a tough argument to make because unless you really want to compare it to the Apple MacBooks and Microsoft Surfaces of the world, you don't need the Core i7 with 32GB of RAM to get things done on a Chromebook. Or any laptop for that matter. The Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is an outlier, and while it's clear this was designed with the Enterprise market in mind, there's more to it than that.

The HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook is easily the best Chromebook for business we've tested, offering incredible performance, great design, and decent enough battery life. It's also easily the most expensive Chromebook we've tested -- so this definitely isn't for your average consumer.

Źródło: PC Mag angielski EN→PL
Google is serious about selling Chrome OS to corporations, touting its continuous, automatic updates; no need for third-party antivirus software; swift startup, voice support, and cloud profiles that work across devices; Google Workspace's compatibility with Microsoft Office; and built-in Google Meet videoconferencing and Screencast screen recorder with auto-transcript. With the cutting-edge, vPro-compliant HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook, the platform has its best example yet for enterprise deployment. The rather large drawback is that the Dragonfly is shockingly expensive, or at least will seem so to anyone not used to premium Chromebooks. Even with HP currently discounting the $1,149 base model to $979.99, it'll make consumers turn away and prospective business buyers hesitate. But if they take the plunge, IT managers will find the Elite Dragonfly the best Chromebook ever and an Editors' Choice-worthy showpiece for cloud and flexible work.

80% HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook review: The new standard-bearer
Źródło: Digital Trends angielski EN→PL
There’s no other Chrome OS laptop quite like the Elite Dragonfly Chromebook. Its haptic touchpad is better than most touchpads on any platform, coming in a close second to Apple’s Force Touch touchpads. Its vPro CPU enables extensive security and management for large organizations. And when fully configured, it’s the fastest Chromebook you can buy. No, this isn’t a Chromebook that many consumers are likely to buy, mainly because of the high price. But any business looking for a secure, manageable, high-performing, and innovative Chromebook now has just one logical choice.
