Przemyślany, świetnie wyceniony (3499 zł), dopracowany i z asem w rękawie w postaci bardzo solidnych aparatów fotograficznych wzbogaconych o algorytmy które robią najlepszy tryb portretowy jaki dotychczas spotkałem w tym segmencie urządzeń. Choć znalezienie i wyczucie balansu między ceną, jakością i wydajnością nie jest proste — Honor 200 Pro udowadnia, że jest to możliwe. To bez wątpienia jedna z najlepszych rynkowych propozycji w temacie średniej-wyższej półki. Przy okazji wyróżniająca się nietuzinkowym designem!

Honor 200 Pro to bardzo udany smartfon, który może stanowić konkurencję dla droższych flagowców. Ma szereg zalet, które będą zachęcać do kupna: bardzo ładny ekran, dużą szybkość pracy, bogaty system z funkcjami AI, sprawne funkcje komunikacyjne, dobry aparat z niebanalnym trybem portretowym, niezły dźwięk z głośników i na słuchawkach, a także przyzwoity czas pracy oraz szybkie ładowanie (czego jednak nie miałem szans do końca sprawdzić). Co może się podobać mniej? Osobiście nie jestem do końca przekonany do wyglądu i wykończenia wyspy aparatów, która psuje dobry efekt całości. Plastikowa ramka okalająca obudowę też wygląda trochę tandetnie. Zdziwiła mnie też niższa niż oczekiwałem po testach Realme GT 6 wydajność Honora 200 Pro, co trudno tłumaczyć mniejszą pamięcią RAM.

Krótka odpowiedź? Tak, warto. Dłuższa jest taka, że Honor 200 Pro jest bardzo ładny, dobrze zbudowany, wydajny, długo działa na baterii i pozwala zrobić naprawdę dobre zdjęcia, a także ma ochronę na poziomie IP65. Taki zestaw cech przy cenie startowej 3499 zł sprawia, że także z pytania o opłacalność ten smartfon wychodzi obronną ręką. Są i ciemniejsze punkty. Szybkie ładowanie działa tylko z ładowarką, którą trzeba dokupić oddzielnie, a aparat szerokokątny odstaje możliwościami od pozostałych dwóch.

Honor 200 Pro pod wieloma względami zaskoczył mnie naprawdę bardzo pozytywnie. Może stanowić złoty środek pomiędzy kosztującymi z reguły znacznie więcej flagowcami z krwi i kości, a średniopółkowcami, którym mimo wszystko zawsze może czegoś brakować. Nie zabrakło tu bardzo dobrego ekranu AMOLED, solidnych głośników stereo, jak i wręcz nienagannej wydajności – mimo nie w pełni flagowego procesora – oraz dobrej baterii, pozwalającej na długo czas pracy na jednym naładowaniu. Do kompletu mamy także wsparcie dla szybkiego ładowania po kablu (szkoda tylko, że w zestawie brak adaptera), równie szybkiego ładowania indukcyjnego oraz zwrotnego. Aparat w zdecydowanej większości przypadków pozwala na uzyskanie bardzo satysfakcjonujących efektów i w zasadzie moim jedynym poważniejszym zarzutem co do niego jest ultraszeroki kąt, który mógłby być bardziej szczegółowy.

Overall, the Honor 200 Pro is a great mid-range smartphone, and easily one of my favorites this 2024. Not only does it look good, it has the performance to match as well. It caters to users who want a phone with a very capable camera, but can also handle its games well. This then makes it great for content creators or those who want to try and dip into photography and videography. The only downside of the phone is the battery life. Despite having a larger 5200 mAh battery pack, it doesn’t last longer than other phones. In fact, it’s around the same or even uses more battery than its competitors. Speaking of competition, the Honor 200 Pro retails for PHP 29,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

The Honor 200 Pro is unique in many senses, but that is a positive feature maybe only when talking about the camera and its many creative modes on offer. Despite the positioning as a "premium mid-range" phone, its €800 MSRP (approx. $870) places it in flagship territory, especially with its mid-year release and discounted rivals from the first semester. Honor seems really proud of the design of the 200 Pro, but despite liking the build quality and materials on the review unit, the camera island has a divisive look that can look too retro. Besides that, the Honor 200 Pro offers a really competitive package in its screen and performance. The big display, curved edge aside, is perfect for media consumption, and even the stereo speakers sounded nice (but are side-firing, which affected the spatial immersion).

The Honor 200 Pro is a versatile and capable smartphone, with a triple-camera setup that brings with it many imaging options. Honor calls its 200 Pro’s main 50 MP camera with an f/1.9 aperture a “studio-level portrait camera.” Marketed as “the portrait master,” the device has the elements for providing good portraits, thanks to its reliable autofocus, accurate target exposure, and fairly wide dynamic range, even though some color instabilities were noted. For colors, some occasional casts and skin-tone inaccuracies were sometimes visible. Images also contained some chromatic noise, particularly in low-light conditions. Strong backlit conditions could also result in a low contrast in images. The Honor 200 Pro’s strong performances in autofocus, exposure, and well-controlled noise in video were offset by the inconsistencies in stabilization, which were apparent when shooting action videos when walking.

The majority of my issues with the Honor 200 Pro boil down to the fact that the software just isn’t as good as you can get elsewhere. In particular, the Google Pixel 8 offers a much more streamlined experience (not to mention several more years of support) for around the same price. That said, there’s so little to dislike here that a few software wobbles aren’t a dealbreaker. Performance is good and battery life is fantastic, the display is practically flawless and the cameras are diverse and effective, particularly when it comes to portraits. Will that be enough to unseat the Pixel 8? We have yet to see, but if I were Google, I’d be concerned.

But there’s no denying it feels every bit as premium in the hand as those phones. So it’s a very tempting alternative that really holds its own among rivals.

The low contrast seems to be more of a problem when zooming in, as in the case of a short clip of the base of the Eiffel tower, where the Olympic rings could be seen. The shadows in the footage has been rendered more grey/brown than black. All in all, the Honor 200 Pro is a very exciting phone to use as it offers quite a lot for photographers for its price point (just under £700) – particularly as someone who takes a lot of portraits. Not only does it have a triple camera system on the back, it also has a telephoto camera and a high-resolution 50MP selfie camera on the front.

In the opening paragraph, I wrote about this phone being the first Portrait phone out there, but it's more than that. The Honor 200 Pro is an excellent upper midranger with snappy performance, stylish design, a great screen, and super-fast charging. I can see this phone giving some true flagships a run for their money, and the only thing that somewhat spoils this Parisian party is the price. At £699.99 (around $890), the Honor 200 Pro is more expensive than all your mainstream flagship phones, including the iPhone 15, Galaxy S24, and Pixel 8. Can this phone compete with those? It can, absolutely! But it would require a massive leap of faith for most people to reach and grab the Honor 200 Pro and skip the aforementioned "safe" choices. Which is a shame.

That’s a hard question, as always, but it’s even harder right now. Because, at the time of writing this, I do not know the price of the HONOR 200 Pro. I’d imagine it’ll be cheaper than the Magic6 Pro, which is €1299. But how much cheaper is the question? Then there’s the HONOR 100 Pro that it is replacing, that was priced at €449 last year. Leaving the price out of it, this is a damn good phone. Especially if it comes in much cheaper than the Magic6 series. Typically, the number series are marketed as mid-range phones, but there’s nothing mid-range about this. A flagship processor, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, three incredible cameras on the back, and a big juicy battery to boot. There’s not a lot to dislike about the HONOR 200 Pro.

The Honor 200 Pro’s display showed a strong performance in our Display protocol, supported by achieving a top score in color and an excellent showing in touch. The Honor 200 Pro’s flicker-free screen provided a well-adapted brightness in low light and in indoor conditions. However, the display’s readability was heavily challenged in outdoor lighting, and the device couldn’t quite match the luminance and contrast levels of its competitors. Color performance was by far the display’s strongest aspect. The device’s colors, tested in the faithful mode were accurate throughout. This, along with color uniformity, earned the device the highest score in this attribute. Despite a slight green color shift when viewed from an angle, the screen managed to maintain its color accuracy. Touch performance was highlighted by a very fast and accurate average response time of 56 ms. In addition, the device showed no evidence of reacting to any unintended touches.
