Huawei Mate X6 design and specs revealed ahead of late November 2024 launch
The Mate X6 is Huawei's impending answer to Google's Pixel 9 Pro Fold or Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold6 (as seen on Amazon), according to some recent leaks - although it will also now have to compete for eyeballs with the OEM's even more sophisticated Mate XT, an even larger foldable device with 2 hinges to those devices' 1.
Despite that, Huawei has decided not to give the Mate X6 a significant upgrade in terms of its design, according to a new render posted by Digital Chat Station.
Its camera hump will apparently be virtually identical to that of the Mate X5 (with what might be an unchanged 50MP main shooter and periscope zoom lens), although it will be set against a different range of color options.
They include Obsidian Black and Deep Sea Blue as well as the Universe Red and swirl-effect Nebula Gray shown in the new image.
The new leak also suggests that the Mate X6 will not have a 256GB internal storage option, even if it has the minimum 12GB of RAM. That would be an upgrade for the base model compared to that of the X5, although it bodes poorly for its price, if accurate.
It is tipped to be joined by Mate X6 Collector's Editions with 16GB of RAM and 512GB to 1TB in storage. They are backed to debut alongside the Mate 70 series of conventional flagship smartphones, new MatePad Pro 13.2 and Freebuds 4 Pro on November 26, 2024.
