Tesla's Optimus robots to start work from 2025
The Optimus robot was presented for the first time at Tesla AI Day 2021. At that time, Elon Musk explained his vision of developing a friendly and safe robot that would take on tasks that could normally only be done by humans. Since then, the humanoid robot has evolved considerably and has already been shown in its second Generation. As Elon Musk wrote on July 22 in a reply to an X-Post from Rom Altman, the robot is almost ready for use at Tesla:
Tesla will have genuinely useful humanoid robots in low production for Tesla internal use next year and, hopefully, high production for other companies in 2026

Elon Musk is planning to use the Optimus robot in small numbers at Tesla as early as next year. As can be seen from Tesla's earnings release for the second quarter of 2024, a test run is already taking place. The robot will work autonomously with batteries in one of the Tesla factories. However, the exact tasks it will perform are not mentioned.
In 2026, the Optimus will "hopefully" go into mass production and be delivered to other companies. It could then take over dangerous or repetitive tasks in machine production or support activities in healthcare or warehouse logistics, for example. A demonstration published in May 2024 shows what the robot can already do:
