I'd like to say that this phone is close to being a daily carrier for me, except the cameras are too important to me. But everything else is pretty great. The processor is baller, the design is amazing, and the fast charging is epic. I just wish that gaming phone makers wouldn't write off the camera setup so easily because otherwise this phone easily gives Samsung a run for its money. Gaming phones are not for everyone, that's for sure, but the specifications that gaming phones carry are right up there with everyone else on the field. Plus, they have style and panache that can't be denied. I love whipping this phone out at parties just to see people's faces. "What phone is that?!" So really, at this point, the ball is in ZTE's court. ZTE makes good phones with good to great camera setups. If that company could put the camera from the ZTE Axon 40 into this phone, I couldn't pay RedMagic fast enough for this phone and I would proudly carry it. As it stands now, it's a second phone, which is certainly a luxury for me, but that's not a realistic use case for the world at large.

Do I recommend this smartphone? Well, it is as always with Nubia: I do it without full conviction and a bit conditionally, but if you will take into account all its shortcomings when buying this smartphone, and at the same time you will be convinced by its strengths, it will not be a bad purchase... especially, that for a gaming smartphone the prices are not terribly high. The cheaper model is still quite rich in terms of memory, because it has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, and costs $729.00. You just have to accept the fact that it is only available in black (Obsydian). The more expensive model at the price of $899.00 has two colour variants, translucent or white-grey (Supernova and Mercury), and the memory set is even richer - 18 and 512 GB! As you can see, the price level is a bit lower than that of the more established gaming designs, but the latter, let's be honest, are in some respects better refined.

The REDMAGIC 7S Pro is one hell of a phone and easily among the most powerful on the market. And when it comes to gaming phones, it’s cheaper than what you’ll get from the Asus ROG Phone line. Understanding that the phone leans very heavily in the direction of gaming, I still might appreciate a more balanced experience. The camera is average and the software can be a bit frustrating to casual users. But with that in mind, I don’t think there are many who will come to the REDMAGIC 7S Pro because of either of those. Even with its blistering performance I really like the battery life and charging speed. I also happen to appreciate the 3.5mm headphone jack, too. One of the trade-offs with the cooling system (ventilation grilles) is that it does not allow for any sort of water protection. That’s not a deal breaker for me, but it may be for someone else. If it were up to me, I might slow down the rate at which the REDMAGIC line introduces new models. Between the 7, 7 Pro, and 7S Pro there are three remarkably similar phones being offered.

The active cooling system is superb, and while you can hear the fan it’s a better scenario than the SoC throttling and slowing down your game play. Which is great as this is the fastest Android phone I have ever used, and the ultra-high benchmark scores backed up my real-world experience. I also love the in-display selfie camera which results in a much more immersive experience. The phone’s speakers are loud and add to that enjoyment – although I wish they were front facing – and you get support for aptX Bluetooth codecs and a 3.5mm headphone jack. If you love mobile gaming, then you will love RedMagic 7S Pro.

The Red Magic 7S Pro is a great gaming phone, but there are plenty of reasons to hesitate before buying one. Gaming performance from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is superb, especially when combined with class-leading 960Hz touch sampling and a 120Hz OLED screen. But the cheaper regular 7S has a higher 165Hz refresh rate and avoids the headache of an under-display fingerprint sensor. Battery life is impressive, but you miss out on the ultra-fast 135W charging in China and there’s still no wireless charging. The cameras are also unreliable, while the muted aesthetic and bulky design won’t please everyone. Even if you’re set on buying a gaming handset, the Red Magic 7S Pro is only the right option if you use your phone in a very specific way. For everyone else, there are better alternatives.

The RedMagic 7S Pro is the first phone from the company that I feel comfortable recommending to "non-gamers." It's crazy fast, has a bright and beautiful display, passable cameras, and a great price. It's not the phone for everyone. In fact, if I read this review and hadn't tried it, I might think it wasn't a good fit for me — there are no bezels to speak of, I really like wireless charging, and usually prefer smaller phones that fit better in my shirt pocket. But I did get to try it, and I can say that all the pros far outweigh the cons for me. I still believe I'll keep my current phone for at least another year, but if I were in the market to buy something new, I would definitely have the RedMagic 7S Pro on my radar. It's like nothing I've ever used before.

You won’t find an Android phone that’s more powerful than the Red Magic 7S Pro right now. Its Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, coupled with a monstrous cooling system and bags of RAM make it the match of the ROG Phone 6 for sustained performance. Couple that with responsive controls and a large, fast display, and you have a fine phone for competitive gamers. Meanwhile the design, while bulky, isn’t quite as in-your-face as certain gaming phone rivals. However, not all of Nubia’s decisions make sense. Opting for an in-display selfie camera rather than a balanced design and dual front-firing speakers doesn’t speak to a strict gaming focus, nor does the lack of an unusually large battery. All in all, while the Red Magic 7S Pro is a more-than-solid option for hardcore mobile gamers, the ROG Phone 6 is far more uncompromising and just plain better at what it does.

Jako smartfon do grania, Nubia Redmagic 8 Pro ociera się o doskonałość. Gry uruchamiają się na najwyższych detalach i działają ultrapłynnie bez zająknięcia, a znakomity i ogromny ekran OLED i niezłe głośniki dodatkowo zwiększają przyjemność z grania. Co mnie szczególnie cieszy, design smartfona jest prosty, całkiem elegancki, ale ma przy tym odpowiednio dużo „pazura”, aby od razu wiedzieć, jaka moc w nim drzemie. Szkoda jedynie, że wbudowane chłodzenie nie zawsze potrafi jej podołać. Również jako flagowy smartfon na co dzień (i na długie lata) Redmagic 8 Pro nie zawiedzie, ale wówczas kłują w oczy liczne, niestety, wady. Fatalne tłumaczenie nakładki utrudnia obsługę, zwłaszcza że funkcji jest mnóstwo, a wiele z nich docelowo… ułatwia życie. Ponadto aparaty fotograficzne nie zachwycą mobilnych fotografów, choć przyznam, że smartfon kręci naprawdę niezłe klipy wideo. W porównaniu z gamingową konkurencją Redmagic 8 Pro kusi ceną, ale względem klasycznych flagowców ze Snapdragonem 8 gen 2 cierpi na zbyt wiele bolączek, zwłaszcza na gruncie foto.

Ciekawy design, który może spodobać się graczom, genialny wyświetlacz z piękną ramką i efektownym aparatem schowanym pod ekranem, bardzo sprawnie działający czytnik linii papilarnych, spora bateria 6000 mAh, nie najszybsze, ale w miarę szybkie ładowanie w pół godziny, przyzwoity główny aparat (choć pomocnicze nieco słabsze), dobre głośniki i wibracje, wysoka wydajność oraz przede wszystkim brak ewidentnych mankamentów, jakie pamiętamy z modeli poprzednich generacji. W zasadzie jedynym problemem pozostaje tłumaczenie interfejsu, bo sam w sobie jest już prawie dobrze dopasowany pod europejskie wymagania. Powiem wam szczerze, że gdybyście mnie pytali o solidny i nie za drogi gamingowy smartfon, to mógłbym go z czystym sumieniem polecić. Oczywiście pod warunkiem, że nie pękniecie ze śmiechu otwierając aparat i wybierając opcję "poklatane w czasie".

Redmagic 8 Pro to telefon o ogromnym potencjale, który jednak w sporej części został zmarnowany. Smartfon w wersji Matte świetnie wygląda – łączy codzienną dyskrecję z gamingowymi smaczkami jak ukryte światła RGB. Ładny jest ekran, genialna wydajność dzięki topowemu Snapdragonowi 8 Gen 2 oraz dużej pamięci w najnowszych standardach, jest więc sporo frajdy podczas grania, ale też duży przyjemność podczas oglądania filmów, słuchania muzyki i w codziennych zastosowaniach. Redmagic 8 Pro to smartfon aspirujący do górnej półki, jednak brakuje w nim wielu funkcji, jakich można oczekiwać po flagowych smartfonach. Zastosowanie wentylatora z otwartymi przelotami najwyraźniej sprawiło, że smartfon nie jest pyło- i wodoszczelny. Nie ma ładowania bezprzewodowego, ekran nie do końca zapewnia pełne wsparcie dla standardów HDR, a odświeżanie to tylko 120 Hz, nie ma dynamicznego odświeżania (co wynika z braku technologii LPTO). Na koniec zostawiam kwestie czysto subiektywne. W moich rękach Redmagic 8 Pro dobrze leży na co dzień, w układzie pionowym, ale po obróceniu do grania ta kanciasta obudowa się nie sprawdza. Testowany wcześniej Redmagic 7 z zaokrąglonymi tyłem lepiej dopasowywał się do ręki podczas zabawy, a tym razem konstrukcja wymusza mocne trzymania na bokach, co powoduje zasłonięcie głośników i nie jest ergonomiczne. Na szczęście trochę pomaga założenie etui.

The RedMagic 8S Pro is easily the best gaming phone the company has built yet, and it delivers consistent performance, whether you’re gaming or using your phone for less intense tasks. It also nails the battery life aspect, delivering all-day battery from a massive 6,000mAh cell alongside impressive charging speeds. It leaves very little to be desired, especially at the relatively low price. It comes in at £579/$649 for the 12GB/256GB Midnight version, which is stellar value for money. While the Platinum and Aurora colours cost more, they’re just cosmetic upgrades, making the base version an absolute steal for the price. The only two big issues RedMagic has left to solve are dust ingress issues and sometimes shoddy software. The front camera could also use some work, but I believe it’s an acceptable sacrifice in exchange for a seamless screen.

Even though games look and play great on the RedMagic, its confusing customization of Android 13 combined with its short software and security update commitment make the phone hard to recommend. If you buy the RedMagic 8 Pro to use as a phone, you will need to make adjustments to its settings in order to turn off or remove junk, and the less you use the front-facing camera the better. Because of these software issues and the short support commitment, I generally recommend the $1,000 Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate instead, even with its higher price. Its Android UI has a much lighter touch than what RedMagic provides, its gaming modes are stacked with options, it has comparable specs, photography is better and the phone offers a longer support cycle.

With a DXOMARK Audio score of 103, the Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro did not make it near the upper regions of our ranking. It appears audio was not a top priority during the conception and design of this game-oriented smartphone, and the RedMagic 8 Pro performed poorly both as a playback device with the built-in speakers and when recording sounds. Playback performance was poor across all use cases, but the Nubia did somewhat better when watching movies and gaming, than it did for music. Recording results were slightly better for office and memo use than for recording with the main and selfie cameras, but across all use cases the Nubia was held back by its monophonic recordings.

The Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro’s excellent global battery score places the device among the Top 10 in our database and in the top spot for its segment. The device outperformed its predecessor, the Nubia RedMagic 7 Pro, because of better autonomy and efficiency, thanks mainly to a larger battery. The Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro’s autonomy lasted 2.5 days in our tests when used moderately. It had an especially good performance when in idle with screen on, which provided excellent autonomy in most test cases, particularly when gaming or streaming videos. On-the-go autonomy was also very good when using the camera or the navigation, two use cases that usually demand a lot of power. Equipped with a 65W charger, the device’s charging experience was excellent. Charging the battery from empty to full took less than 47 minutes, and a quick 5-minute charge provided more than 7 hours of autonomy. The 65W charger’s use of a new charging protocol that slows down the time to fully replenish the 6000 mAh battery should help preserve the life and performance of the device’s battery. Adapter efficiency was the best we ever measured, and the overall charge efficiency was also outstanding. However, the residual power drain of the charger was a bit high and above the average of our database. Finally, the discharge currents were low when streaming video or idling with screen on, meaning that the device was optimized for these test cases. In contrast, the discharge currents were a bit high when the phone was idle with the screen off, which is the main state of devices most of the day. Compared with devices from the Premium segment ($600-$799), the Nubia RedMagic 8 Pro ranked in the first place of our database, achieving the best autonomy score for this segment. The charging experience was also excellent, but the efficiency score was only average compared with device from the same price range.

For its price, the Redmagic 8 Pro offers unbeatable gaming performance. The Matte version, which starts at $649, is a phenomenal price for what you receive, but this low price comes with caveats. While many issues have been fixed with this iteration of Redmagic OS, the software experience still needs to improve beyond the quality found on budget Android phones. For example, I've come to rely on Google Pay on my phone more over the years, and its absence is irritating. The number of crashes I experienced was also worrying, and while I expect some of these bugs to be ironed out post-launch, they are still frustrating. The Redmagic 8 Pro is the best deal you'll find if you're looking for a gaming phone that doesn't compromise gaming performance. It's got all the parts we've come to expect from quality gaming phones, like shoulder triggers and an internal fan. Plus, the Game Space software is a pleasure to use for everyone from streamers to casual gamers. Despite its shortcomings, the Redmagic 8 Pro is easily one of the best gaming phones to date, and $649 is an excellent price for it.

This luxurious display comes at the cost of a decent selfie shooter, though, and we'd prefer a traditional camera in a small bezel, rather than an under-display camera that offers such poor results. The software, in its current state, is too buggy for our liking. Though, as we mentioned, we're sure this will improve dramatically as the updates start to roll out. There is a lot to like about the nubia Red Magic 8 Pro. It offers the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset alongside fast UFS 4.0 storage, which translates to an amazingly smooth experience no matter what you task the phone with. Of course, gaming is the bread and butter of the Red Magic line, and the Red Magic 8 Pro excels at it like few others. Not only does it have the raw power to chew through even the heaviest modern titles, but nubia's extra Game Space software layer has gotten better than ever. We found ourselves particularly impressed with how well the Red Magic 8 Pro handles gaming on an external monitor via a display connection or through the excellent Windows game streaming software, both wired and wireless. If excellence in gaming is all you are after, then we have no issue wholeheartedly recommending the Red Magic 8 Pro. However, as a complete all-around package, it still has some rough edges that are hard to ignore. For instance, despite performing quite admirably, its display is not really on par with the industry's current high-end panels. And while we can live perfectly fine with a 120Hz refresh rate in practice, the lack of things like HDR video support and LTPO are a bit tougher to swallow. Sure, both are "nice to haves" rather than truly essential, but it's these kinds of things that ultimately add up to a great overall smartphone experience. The same goes for the camera. We definitely appreciate the upgrades to the main snapper. Those are evident. But the rest of the camera experience on the Red Magic 8 Pro tends to be lackluster and lacking in both features and performance. And last but definitely not least, as smooth and feature-rich as it is, Redmagic OS is still a half-translated mess more often than not. Even after the latest Redmagic OS 6 update running on the Red Magic 8 Pro, the state in which a lot of text, menus and options appear in the UI is very poor. Nubia has had plenty of time to address this issue, as we've reported on it for years now, but obviously, the company is not interested in perfecting that aspect for its Western audience. All of this ultimately makes the Red Magic 8 Pro an amazing Android gaming device, and a somewhat compromised Android smartphone.

Nubia REDMAGIC 8S Pro to świetny smartfon, który ma wiele zalet. Ma doskonały wyświetlacz i oferuje wysoką wydajność zarówno w grach, jak i podczas pracy na kilku aplikacjach. Gamingowy, interesujący design, dobra jakość wykonania i mnogość funkcji dla graczy to tylko część zalet tego sprzętu. Nie jest on jednak pozbawiony wad, jak np. błędy w tłumaczeniu na język polski, plecki, które lubują sie w zbieraniu odcisków, a także dość głośny wentylator. Czy w tej cenie da się znaleźć lepsze telefony? Biorąc pod uwagę, że na oficjalnej stronie producenta ten model został wyceniony na 799 euro, czyli równowartość około 3648 złotych, to odpowiedź brzmi „to zależy”. Jeżeli szukasz gamingowego smartfona, to „nie”. Jeżeli interesuję Cię świetny aparat, albo chcesz mieć smartfon tylko do zwykłego użytkowania, to „tak” – tutaj dobrą alternatywą może być na przykład Samsung Galaxy S23 czy też Pixel 7.

Redmagic 8S Pro sprawił mi trochę problemów z oceną końcową. Z jednej strony to smartfon, który może konkurować ze znacznie droższymi flagowcami popularnych marek. Ma dość ładny, duży ekran bez wycięcia, zapewnia doskonałą wydajność z minimalnym throttlingiem i spory zestaw funkcji gaminowych, niekiedy nawet wyprzedzających konkurencję. Na plus liczy się nowy RedmagicOS 8 z odświeżonym interfejsem i wreszcie dużo lepszym spolszczeniem. W zakamarkach ustawień znajdziemy masę nowych opcji, które ucieszą wymagających użytkowników. Jest też spora bateria i szybkie ładowanie. Z drugiej strony jest parę niedociągnięć. Obudowa wersji Aurora to designerskie nieporozumienie – smartfon nie wygląda szczególnie ciekawie, a do tego ciągle się brudzi. Ekran jest subiektywnie ładny, ale jego parametry są dalekie od najnowszych flagowców (brak LTPO, tylko 120 Hz, tylko 16 mln kolorów).

Redmagic 8S Pro to prawdopodobnie jeden z najlepszych smartfonów dla graczy, jakie powstały. Cechuje się on bowiem nietuzinkowym designem, a ponadto oferuje bardzo wysoką wydajność, świetny ekran i wiele funkcji dedykowanych właśnie graczom. Urządzenie to niedomaga przede wszystkim w zakresie fotografii, ale jako że sam sensor główny jego aparatu tylnego wypada bardzo dobrze, to można mu to wybaczyć. Pozostałe wady smartfonu są naprawdę drobne, nawet niedociągnięcia tłumaczeniowe w oprogramowaniu, bo samo działanie systemu nie sprawia absolutnie żadnych problemów.

Porozmawiajmy o możliwości robienia zdjęć. Niestety, nie wszystko jest tutaj takie oczywiste. 8- i 2-megapikselowe czujniki pomocnicze są prawie bezużyteczne, ich jakość nie budzi pozytywnych emocji. Ale te słowa nie dotyczą głównego 50-megapikselowego modułu Samsunga GN5. Chociaż nadal nie ma stabilizacji optycznej, uzyskanie szczegółowych wieczornych zdjęć bez nadmiernego szumu będzie zadaniem wykonalnym nawet dla niezbyt doświadczonego fotografa. Głośniki stereo grają bardzo głośno (ponad 90 dB), jest bas. Oczywiście nie bez obsługi Androida 13, NFC, 5G. Ale aby osiągnąć ochronę przed wilgocią zgodnie ze standardami IP68, konstrukcja urządzenia nie pozwalała. Tym samym mamy niemal idealny gamingowy smartfon z Androidem.

To sum up, I am very happy that Nubia Red Magic 8S Pro is available in Europe. The phone can be ordered from Nubia's European store. There are three versions of this model to choose from. The base version offers 12 GB RAM and 256 GB memory in black and costs about $650. Then there are versions with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of memory in silver and black, priced at $780 and $800. It is worth mentioning that if you have the previous model, i.e. Red Magic 8 Pro, it may be worth waiting for the next generation to see if Nubia improves the interface translation and other aspects. I will also add that Google Wallet does not work on this phone for now. This may change after the update. This is a smartphone from a series that really stands out and attracts attention. It offers great speakers, a gorgeous screen, and impressive performance. You won't complain about small details such as the fingerprint reader. The quality of photos from the main camera is also decent, although slightly lower quality can be expected from the front camera, especially in lower lighting.

Those are still truly appealing price tags. If you like gaming on your phone, and you do appreciate great performance above everything, the RedMagic 8S Pro may be the phone for you. The fact it doesn’t have a display camera hole, and has a ton of gaming features is a huge plus.

Nubia has plenty of experience with gaming phones at this point and it shows. The OEM knows how to put together a great gaming phone without much fluff. Despite its flaws like not-so-amazing camera experience, awkwardly translated UI and the lack of HDR support, the new 8S Pro is a solid gaming solution. We still like the design carried over from the 8 Pro and even managed to improve upon cooling. The 8S Pro has by far one of the best, if not the best, cooling solution we've tested. Continuous and strenuous workloads are a non-issue for the 8S Pro, so long gaming sessions shouldn't be a problem too. All in all, the RedMagic 8S Pro is a very similar phone to the RedMagic 8 Pro. The previous model debuted as one of the fastest gaming phones on the market, and its successor is doing the same thing. To summarise what's changed - the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 comes with an overclock, the cooling solution has been improved, there's a new OS with extra gaming features and the styling has been updated. I love the new look, especially the subtle transparent fan window on an otherwise opaque rear panel. The gaming performance is impressive to see in benchmarks, but I wouldn't say it's very noticeable in practice. The system is far less buggy this time around, though. I had one major hiccup, but I'm confident this will be patched soon enough. I wouldn't recommend this as an upgrade for RedMagic 8 Pro owners, it's simply too similar. But for anyone else, it's a small improvement on what was already one of the best gaming phones. If you're looking for pure performance, look no further.

All in all, this is a strong handset. Performance is on par with anything else I've been hands on with, with the battery life even outstripping them slightly. In regular day-to-day use, you'll be more than satisfied – top that up with a few mobile gaming sessions and you're really going to get your money's worth here. The biggest downfall is probably the camera. As mentioned above, the main sensor is definitely good enough for most, but the others are lacking. That might be a deal-breaker for some. Regardless, it's worth a look. Take away the gaming credentials of the handset for a second – you're getting an 8 Gen 2 powered handset with a crisp, 6.8-inch display and a whopping battery for less than £750. That's a bargain. For gamers, it's a no-brainer, but even those in the hunt for a regular phone with a slightly more modest budget should give this a look.

Prawdopodobnie to będzie odpowiedni wybór dla fanów mobilnego grania w gry. Z drugiej jednak strony mamy przeciętny aparat i bardzo dużo błędów systemowych, które denerwują podczas codziennego użytkowania. Trudno więc dać temu sprzętowi wyższą ocenę niż 6/10. Jakby tego było mało, połowa menu nie została przetłumaczona, a problemy, które występowały w 8S Pro, tutaj także są obecne. W cenie do 3000 złotych da się znaleźć lepsze propozycje, jak np. Nothing Phone (2), Xiaomi 13 T czy też iPhone 13 – przynajmniej tak długo, dopóki nie zależy Ci głównie na graniu w gry. Wielka szkoda, że producent podszedł do niektórych rzeczy po macoszemu i nie dopracował bardziej smartona. Być może wtedy mówilibyśmy o prawdziwym hicie, mogącym zdominować rynek. A tak, mamy po prostu kolejną, gamingową ciekawostkę…

nie ze wszystkimi opcjami i nie w wysokiej rozdzielczości. Szczególnie

wymagające gry chodzą tylko na minimalnych ustawieniach, w wyniku

czego często mocno cierpi jakość grafiki. Układy z tej klasy powinny

zainteresować osoby rzadko grające w gry.

Qualcomm Adreno 730: Układ graficzny dla smartfonów i tabletów, który jest zintegrowany w Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Qualcomm twierdzi, że jest on o 30% szybszy niż Adreno 660 w SoC Snapdragon 888. Dla Android powinna to być jedna z najszybszych kart graficznych pod koniec 2021 roku.

Qualcomm Adreno 740:

W porównaniu do wersji bez plusa, 8+ Gen 1 oferuje o 200 MHz wyższe taktowanie Prime Core i o 10% wyższe taktowanie GPU. Co więcej, jest on teraz produkowany w TSMC, a nie w Samsungu.

High-endowy SoC dla smartfonów, który został wprowadzony pod koniec 2022 roku z szybkim rdzeniem głównym opartym na architekturze ARM Cortex-X3 pracującym z częstotliwością do 3,2 GHz.
