But the presence of bloatware, the IPX4 rating instead of a full-fledged IP rating, and the lack of wireless charging can be a few things that might disappoint you. Despite these shortcomings, the Oppo Find N3 Flip remains an all-rounder flip phone that delivers on all fronts. Other alternatives include the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, which offer large cover screens, wireless charging, and better IP ratings. However, they lack the alert slider, telephoto lens, and faster charging speed with the larger battery found on the Oppo Find N3 Flip, making it an underrated smartphone.

It's quite obvious with the two foldable releases from team Oppo and OnePlus (BBK Electronics) that the two brands have put up enough of a challenge, raising the bar for Samsung's upcoming foldables, which are expected to be called the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. I have no doubt that the OnePlus Open is a clear winner compared to what Samsung currently offers in 2023. But I have mixed feelings about the Oppo Find N3 Flip. I'm also not a big fan of its vertical cover display layout and am quite confused about whether Oppo will get rid of this layout for something better with the next model. While the Find N3 Flip's raw performance (including gaming), overall camera quality and battery life (including charging) are quite impressive for a clamshell foldable, it's all stuck behind an oddly laid out cover display experience, one that will vary depending on the apps that you use on a daily basis. Pick this one if you don't use the cover display often on your current foldable or don't intend to on your first one.

All things considered, the OPPO Find N3 Flip is a great well-rounded flip phone. OPPO has latched on to its strength in this category – nice design, big battery, good performance and a great user experience. Where it mainly focuses on this time around is the camera. With the Hasselblad partnership and OPPO’s engineering experience, it managed to make a camera system worthy of a flagship phone despite the obstacles and challenges presented by a foldable device. The Find N3 Flip is a testament to that. It’s not a perfect one, noting the lack of a proper IPX rating but a great flip phone, nonetheless. With a suggested retail price of Php64,999, that is a 30% jump in price tag compared to its predecessor (the Find N2 Flip had an SRP of only Php49,999 when it came out). OPPO is kind of overreaching here and this price difference is inexplicably beyond us. Well, except for one possible reason — OPPO wants to go head-to-head with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip5 and see if can match the brand’s equity with their own engineering feats.

Despite boasting 44W peak power, which is sustained for mere seconds, the phone spends most of its time charging just below 20W. As such, the Find N3 Flip takes 52 minutes to fill and 23 minutes to hit 50%. That’s faster than last year but not exactly super fast for a 4,300mAh battery. While we’re being picky, 15W from non-SuperVOOC chargers isn’t great and means the phone will charge much slower with third-party plugs and power banks.

Priced at Rs 94,999, the OPPO Find N3 Flip can’t be called affordable, but it’s a premium flagship after all, and a foldable one at that… so the pricing isn’t much of a surprise. The closest competition is of course, the Samsung Galaxy Flip5, which is a very strong contender with good cameras and a comprehensive software ecosystem. It does score in software, and even offers an IP68 rating and wireless charging. However, it’s not so strong in other aspects like charging speeds, and cover screen usability. The fact that the Find N3 Flip is an evolutionary upgrade over its predecessor isn’t unexpected, but the good thing is that it does come with some handy additions that sweeten the deal.. the telephoto camera and the alert slider for instance. The software could do with a bit of a cleanup, and the lack of wireless charging is noticeable, especially at this price point. However, the handset scores in crucial aspects like cover screen usability, performance and cameras, with its build quality and hinge durability adding to its appeal.

Okay, so in the end, should you buy the OPPO Find N3 Flip? Well, it ultimately depends on what you want. I think between this and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, I consider them to be on par with each other. Cameras on the Find N3 Flip is obviously much better, and having an alert slider is just a big quality of life improvement. However, the Z Flip5’s larger cover display is more functional yet just looks better than the Find N3 Flip’s empty patch of space. Both phones’ hinge are similar as they close with virtually no gap, but the Find N3 Flip has a weird snapback yet has a much shallower crease. As for the price – it’s RM4,399. Slightly lower than its competitor, but like what we said earlier – there are definitely pros and cons between these two phones. So, which one will you pick? The Find N3 Flip or the Galaxy Z Flip5? Personally, I’m not a Flip guy. I’m more interested in the OPPO Find N3 Fold. Hopefully, I can get my hands on it soon.

The outer screen is pretty much identical to the one on the N2 Flip. Oppo seems to be committed to this aspect ratio — and for good reason — the N3 Flip now lets you use full-sized apps on the outer display, in addition to the preinstalled widgets for weather and camera. Oppo claims that more than 40 apps have been optimised and more will be added. With the firmware that I had, most of the popular Google apps were there, along with support for others like WhatsApp, Telegram, Outlook, etc. You can even reply to messages with either voice or the keyboard right from the outer screen. The Find N3 Flip runs Android 13, but Oppo says it will deliver four three years of Android updates and five four years of security updates for it. The Oppo Find N3 Flip is a pretty big update when you think about it and it's surprising considering the Find N2 Flip launched in India only earlier this year. It certainly gives Samsung and Motorola stiff competition, which is something we'll dive into in more detail in the full review, so stay tuned.

The Oppo Find N3 is the best foldable phone you can get right now, especially if you’re in a market where the OnePlus Open (quite literally the same phone as the N3 but with slightly different software) isn’t available. There’s very little holding the Oppo Find N3 back. The hardware is great, the software features make great use of the hardware, and the camera performance is remarkable for a foldable phone. I’ve used the phone longer than I do with most review units, and in my six months of usage, I’ve found very little to complain about. The Oppo Find N3 is a nearly complete package, and it only misses out on a few things. Wireless charging is the biggest negative here. ColorOS also needs some work, but it’s headed in the right direction.

Did I have fun using the Find N3 as my daily driver, along with features like its Boundless View mode and the fact I can pretty much use Google Wallet with it? Absolutely. Would I recommend it wholeheartedly as a common option to the masses?

It competes well with the benchmark in the class, the Galaxy Z Fold5, by delivering as good or better results in key areas, while not really falling short in any major way. For example, the Find N3's rear cameras are more versatile on both the ultrawide and telephoto end. The displays on the Oppo foldable are nicer in almost every way, and on top of what is mostly a tie battery life, the Find N3 adds quicker charging. The nice speakers help too. The Oppo also offers a compelling alternative to what's been one of Samsung's key selling points - the software bits to make the most out of the form factor. Karty z tej kategorii są w stanie pociągnąć płynnie najnowsze gry, ale

nie ze wszystkimi opcjami i nie w wysokiej rozdzielczości. Szczególnie

wymagające gry chodzą tylko na minimalnych ustawieniach, w wyniku

czego często mocno cierpi jakość grafiki. Układy z tej klasy powinny

zainteresować osoby rzadko grające w gry.

ARM Immortalis-G715 MP11:

ARM Immortalis-G715MC11 to zintegrowana karta graficzna klasy high-end dla smartfonów z 11 z 16 możliwych rdzeni. Jest ona oparta na trzeciej generacji architektury Valhall firmy ARM i oferuje o 15% wyższą wydajność niż poprzednia generacja. G715 to pierwszy mobilny procesor graficzny ze sprzętową obsługą ray tracingu, a także obsługą cieniowania o zmiennej częstotliwości (VRS).

Qualcomm Adreno 740:

Układ graficzny dla smartfonów i tabletów, który jest zintegrowany w SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Qualcomm twierdzi, że jest on o 25% szybszy od Adreno 730 w Snapdragonie 8 Gen 1, a pierwsze benchmarki pokazują, że GPU może pokonać Apple A16 iGPU (wcześniej najszybsze GPU w smartfonach).

Mediatek Dimensity 9000:

Dimensity 9200: Dimensity 9200 to wysokiej klasy SoC ze zintegrowanym modemem 5G. Obejmuje on jeden szybki rdzeń Cortex-X3 o taktowaniu do 3,05 GHz, trzy kolejne rdzenie A715 o taktowaniu do 2,85 GHz oraz cztery energooszczędne rdzenie (Cortex-A510) o taktowaniu do 1,8 GHz.

Qualcomm Snapdragon:

SD 8 Gen 2:

High-endowy SoC dla smartfonów, który został wprowadzony pod koniec 2022 roku z szybkim rdzeniem głównym opartym na architekturze ARM Cortex-X3 pracującym z częstotliwością do 3,2 GHz. Dwa inne wydajne rdzenie oparte są na A715 i również obsługują tylko aplikacje 64-bitowe. Pozostałe dwa rdzenie A710 również obsługują aplikacje 32-bitowe, podobnie jak energooszczędne rdzenie Cortex-A510. Oprócz rdzeni procesora, SoC zawiera modem WiFi 7, procesor DSP Hexagon (do akceleracji AI) oraz ISP Spectra. Zintegrowany kontroler pamięci obsługuje szybkie pamięci LPDDR5x do 4200 MHz. 5G jest zawarte w układzie z modemem Snapdragon X70.
