Procesor
Wydajność procesora to mieszanka. Chociaż Ryzen 9 6900HX to z pewnością jeden z najszybszych mobilnych procesorów od AMD, wydajność jest w zasadzie identyczna jak w przypadku Ryzen 9 5900HX. W rzeczywistości jest on ledwo szybszy od Ryzen 7 6800H. Zmniejszenie do Ryzen 5 6600H zmniejszy wydajność jednowątkową i wielowątkową odpowiednio o około 5 i 20 procent.

Częstotliwość taktowania procesora, temperatura i pobór mocy na płycie wzrosły do 4,1 GHz, 77 C i 65 W, odpowiednio, podczas inicjowania stresu Prime95. Wkrótce potem procesor ustabilizował się na poziomie 3,7 GHz, 82 C i 54 W. Dla porównania grubszy Legion 7 16ARHA z tym samym procesorem Ryzen 9 6900HX ustabilizował się na poziomie 4,2 GHz, 89 C i 99 W podczas tego samego testu Prime95.
Częstotliwości taktowania GPU, temperatura i pobór mocy na płycie ustabilizowałyby się na poziomie 1582 MHz, 69 C i 69 W podczas uruchamiania Witcher 3. Nie udało nam się zbliżyć do docelowego poziomu 90 W TGP, do którego dąży system, nawet w trybie Extreme Performance.
Praca na baterii zmniejsza wydajność. Test Fire Strike na zasilaniu akumulatorowym przyniósłby wyniki z dziedziny fizyki i grafiki na poziomie odpowiednio 17799 i 10557 punktów, w porównaniu do 25683 i 19597 punktów na zasilaniu sieciowym.

W przeciwieństwie do skoku wydajnościowego z 11. do 12. gen. Intela, przeskok z AMD Zen 3 do Zen 3+ przynosi co najwyżej niewielkie korzyści. Fakt, że Ryzen 9 5900HX w 2021 ThinkBook 16p Gen 2 może osiągać wyniki w granicach 5 procent w stosunku do Ryzen 9 6900HX w ThinkBooku 16p Gen 3 z 2022 roku sprawia, że najnowszy model jest trudniejszą rekomendacją, jeśli wydajność procesora jest tym, na czym nam zależy.
Zmiany w innych miejscach modelu 2022 są jednak warte wspomnienia. Zwłaszcza nowy panel G-Sync o częstotliwości 165 Hz jest znaczącym ulepszeniem w stosunku do panelu 60 Hz, zapewniając znacznie płynniejsze wrażenia w grach.
