NucBox M5 to najnowszy podstawowy mini PC od GMK w przeciwieństwie do droższej serii NucBox K. Wykorzystuje on starsze opcje procesorów w celu utrzymania niskich kosztów.

Nasza jednostka testowa została skonfigurowana z procesorem Zen 2 Ryzen 7 5700U, 32 GB pamięci RAM DDR4-3200 i 1 TB pamięci masowej za około 470 USD. Jednostki Barebone SKU są również dostępne bez pamięci RAM i pamięci masowej w cenie od 320 USD, ale wszystkie opcje są wyposażone w ten sam procesor.

Alternatywy dla NucBox M4 obejmują inne niedrogie mini PC, takie jak Beelink SER5, BMax B7 Powerlub Maxtang MTN-FP750.

Obudowa jest wizualnie identyczna z NucBox K6. W przypadku NucBox M5 boki obudowy są jednak wykonane z tworzywa sztucznego zamiast metalu, co prawdopodobnie ma na celu utrzymanie niskich kosztów.

W porównaniu do starszego i w większości metalowego NucBox M4 m5 jest znacznie mniejszy i waży prawie o połowę mniej.

Konserwacja

Górna pokrywa odskakuje, odsłaniając znajdującą się pod nią osłonę wentylatora i cztery śruby krzyżakowe, które zapewniają łatwy dostęp do dwóch gniazd DDR4 SODIMM, 2x M.2 2280 SSD i modułu WLAN. Pudełko detaliczne zawiera kabel HDMI i zdejmowany uchwyt montażowy VESA wraz z zasilaczem sieciowym i dokumentacją. Standardowa roczna ograniczona gwarancja producenta ma zastosowanie w przypadku zakupu w USA.

Warunki testowania

Przed uruchomieniem poniższych testów porównawczych ustawiliśmy system Windows na tryb wydajności. System jest dostarczany bez oprogramowania typu bloatware lub aplikacji specyficznych dla producenta, co zapewnia czystą obsługę systemu Windows.

Procesor

Wydajność procesora jest wolniejsza niż oczekiwano. Nasz Ryzen 7 5700U działał od 20 do 25 procent wolniej niż przeciętny laptop w naszej bazie danych wyposażony w dokładnie ten sam procesor. Wciąż jest on w stanie pokonać każdy mobilny Celeron, Pentium lub Atom, ale surowa wydajność jest nieco rozczarowująca, ponieważ wiemy, że Ryzen 7 5700U jest w stanie osiągnąć znacznie więcej.

Ogólna wydajność dorównuje 11. generacji procesorów Intel Core i7-1165G7 jaki można znaleźć w starszej serii 2021 Serii NUC11.

Nie trzeba dodawać, że trudno jest polecić NucBox M5, gdy GMktec oferuje już obiektywnie lepszą alternatywę za niewiele więcej. Nawet poza GMktec, Beelink SER6 można znaleźć za mniej niż 500 USD z dużo większą wydajnością niż NucBox M5.

NucBox M5 niekoniecznie jest złym systemem, ale istnieje kilka znacznie szybszych mini PC dostępnych w tym samym przedziale cenowym <500 USD.
