W porównaniu do zeszłorocznego modelu smartfon ma nieco lepszy procesor, ale różnice w działaniu są marginalne. Nieco lepszą baterię, ale i na tamtą trudno było narzekać. Nieco lepszy, bo jaśniejszy wyświetlacz. Teoretycznie gorszą jakość wykonania, bo szkło na pleckach zastąpiono tworzywem, ale za to rozwiązanie takie jest o wiele praktyczniejsze. I wciąż te same minusy, czyli odświeżanie 60 Hz, brak AoD, wolne ładowanie (w dodatku w pudełku nie ma ładowarki). Moim zdaniem zmian jest zdecydowanie za mało, by zmieniać Xperię 10 III na 10 IV. Jeśli jednak ktoś jest miłośnikiem marki i wciąż używa np. Xiperii 10 II – spokojnie może pomyśleć o nowym modelu. Pytanie tylko czy na 10 IV, czy na 10 III, którą można upolować w korzystniejszej cenie. Natomiast na rynku jest sporo urządzeń które kosztują mniej i są po prostu lepsze. To oczywiście smartfony nie z tego, ale z ubiegłego roku. Samsung Galaxy A52s, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE kosztują dużo mniej. A jeśli komuś zależy na małym smartfonie, Asus Zenfone 8 z topową specyfikacją z zeszłego roku kosztuje minimalnie więcej.

I wciąż te same minusy, czyli odświeżanie 60 Hz, brak AoD, wolne ładowanie (w dodatku w pudełku nie ma ładowarki). Moim zdaniem zmian jest zdecydowanie za mało, by zmieniać Xperię 10 III na 10 IV. Jeśli jednak ktoś jest miłośnikiem marki i wciąż używa np. Xiperii 10 II – spokojnie może pomyśleć o nowym modelu. Pytanie tylko czy na 10 IV, czy na 10 III, którą można upolować w korzystniejszej cenie. Natomiast na rynku jest sporo urządzeń które kosztują mniej i są po prostu lepsze. To oczywiście smartfony nie z tego, ale z ubiegłego roku. Samsung Galaxy A52s, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE kosztują dużo mniej. A jeśli komuś zależy na małym smartfonie, Asus Zenfone 8 z topową specyfikacją z zeszłego roku kosztuje minimalnie więcej.

In default mode, it had one of the longest typical usage scenarios we’ve tested to date, and it had one of the best autonomy results in the on-the-go tests, especially when scrolling on social apps. When tested in calibrated mode, the device performed very well, having excellent autonomy whatever the use case. Charging the device’s large 5000 mAh battery to its full capacity lasted 2 hours and 36 minutes because of the small charger. The charge efficiency was poor, and the residual consumption of the charger when the device was fully charged and still plugged in was above average. But the efficiency of the charger itself was average, and its residual consumption when the device was not plugged in was very low, consuming very little power from the outlet. When it came to discharge efficiency, the Sony Xperia 10 IV drained very low discharge currents across all our use cases, meaning that the device was well-optimized. Compared to devices from the same price range ($400 – $599), the Sony Xperia 10 IV’s global score places it near the top of the segment, while its autonomy score takes the top spot. The device also has among the best scores in efficiency for the segment. But its very low charging score, pulled down by the lowest full-charge subscore we have in our database so far, kept it from doing better in the segment.

That makes the Xperia 10 IV sound like a hard sell, and for most people, it is. If you’re still drawn to its design and positive features after reading this review though, then chances are you’ll get along with it just fine.

Mid-range phones are always a matter of priorities, and in the Xperia 10 IV Sony has made some unusual choices. On the other hand, the Xperia 10 IV is unusually water-resistant, has a dedicated telephoto camera, and has the best battery life in its class. Overall, Sony still hasn’t quite managed to hit upon a mid-market formula that will sing to most people. Not in such a competitive market, that’s for sure, and not for the money it’s asking.

Once again, we're parting ways with an Xperia 10 not knowing what to make of it. It's expensive for what its specs suggest, and the phone-only box contents don't help make you feel you're getting your money's worth either. The lack of 4K video recording when the previous installment supported it is an odd consequence of the 5G times we live in, but we reckon it could have been avoided with a different choice of chipset, which would have also improved performance numbers. The fact that the display only supports 60Hz refresh rate is inexcusable at this point, and stereo speakers have all but become the norm even in the upper midrange and the 10 IV misses out on those as well. It's not without its strong points, though, the Mark 4. Unrivaled, almost excessive battery life is the first that comes to mind, and having that in a package as light and compact as this tall 6-incher is certainly going to be enough to attract a whole bunch of buyers. As usual, that body is also dust and water-sealed - a notch better than most, even.

If you absolutely need a faster refresh rate on your smartphone screen, and you also aim for the best camera experience out there, then you should probably look elsewhere. Truth be told, the Xperia 10 IV is a nice evolution and a pleasant device to hold and use but the price is slowly creeping out of the comfortable budget segment that this phone thrives in. And up there there are a lot of nice phones to consider. It also seems that all Xperia models have contracted the same illness characterized with a raise in price rather than in temperature. Whether or not it will prove problematic or potentially incurable, only time will tell.

Gdybym miała wybierać smartfon wyłącznie z uwagi na czasy pracy i priorytetem byłaby bateria, to Sony Xperia 10 V byłaby na podium. Tutaj opinia może być tylko jedna — to telefon, który bez problemu przetrwa nawet dwa dni intensywnej pracy. Lubię też kompaktowość i wydłużony kształt recenzowanego urządzenia, doceniam obecność mini-jacka i wodoodporność. Ale niestety pod innymi względami Xperia 10 V daje się pokonać konkurencji. Przede wszystkim chodzi o działanie systemu, a konkretnie jego powolność. Widać to podczas korzystania z przeglądarki oraz podczas działania aplikacji aparatu oraz czasu przetwarzania zdjęć. W tym momencie nie jest to telefon warty swojej ceny. Oczywiście moja opinia może się zmienić, jeśli smartfon dostanie aktualizację, która naprawi choć część z tych problemów — ale cena i tak powinna być niższa. Niewątpliwie jednak Sony Xperia 10 V to smartfon, który można zaliczyć do zestawienia smartfonów z dobrą baterią. Nie umieściłabym jej jednak w rankingu najlepszych smartfonów do 2000 złotych.

Sony Xperia 10 V to telefon, który w polskich sklepach kosztuje ok. 2000 zł. Myślę, że warto mieć to na uwadze, bo o ile nie ma nic niezwykłego w płaceniu wyższej ceny za sprzęt znanej marki, o tyle można mieć w związku z tym pewne oczekiwania. Liczymy (a przynajmniej ja liczę), że dostaniemy urządzenie wyższej jakości, dopracowane i niezawodne, a w pewnych aspektach deklasujące konkurencję. „Niedroga” Xperia zdecydowanie taka nie jest. Smartfon ma oczywiście swoje zalety. Kompaktowe gabaryty oraz minimalistyczna estetyka mogą się podobać i na pewno zaskarbią sobie wielu fanów. Na plus warto także odnotować wodoodporną konstrukcję i długi czas pracy na jednym ładowaniu. Ale na tym zalety się kończą, a zaczynają się wady. Wady dużego kalibru i – wydawałoby się – łatwe do uniknięcia dla producenta z takim zapleczem oraz doświadczeniem jak Sony.

Zacznijmy od tego, że Sony Xperia 10 V nie ma łatwej sytuacji. Za niewiele więcej można kupić zarówno realme 11 Pro+, co OnePlusa Nord 3. Taniej kupimy za to Samsunga Galaxy A54 5G. Kompaktowy ASUS Zenfone 9 w promocjach potrafi kosztować podobne pieniądze. Czy Sony ma szansę w starciu z którymkolwiek z nich? Moim zdaniem – tak. Wszystkie powyższe modele nie mają najmniejszego startu do czasu pracy u Sony. Nie widzę też najmniejszego powodu, by stawiać na Galaxy A54 5G, który jest po prostu nieudanym telefonem. realme 11 Pro+ i OnePlus Nord 3 zdecydowanie wygrywają ekranami i ładowaniem. realme ma również lepszy aparat. Fanom kompaktowych telefonów pozostaje więc ASUS Zenfone 9 i Sony Xperia 10 V. Ze względu na szacunek do naszych czytelników nie wspominam tu nawet o Google Pixel 7a, którego polecić nie da się nikomu. To jaka jest konkluzja? Powiem wprost – gdybym chciał telefon z małym ekranem, to Sony Xperia 10 V wylądowałaby w mojej kieszeni. Wady można zaakceptować, a bateria wynagradza je wszystkie.

The Sony Xperia 10 V offers quite a nice set of features, considering its price. The camera app includes a night mode, auto HDR, and a background blur feature, but it would benefit from additional shooting modes. It feels like Sony are still playing catch up in the mobile phone market, as Apple, Samsung, Google, and others have additional computational shooting modes (such as long exposure). How about the images produced, are they any good? Well, sometimes. In good light, the cameras can product some really good looking images, and colour can be good. At other times, colour is dull. As light levels drop image quality also drops dramatically. There’s also a lack of consistency between shots, in exposure and colour reproduction, so it is often a case of picking the best of several shots to get a good one. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to see why anyone would choose this phone over a Samsung, Google Pixel, or any of the other brands available. There are too many things on this phone that simply aren’t competitive with what’s out there.

The three-lens camera array is flexible, sure, but 4K video recording is MIA. Charging speeds could be better, too, especially as you’ve now got to provide your own power brick and USB cable. The Xperia 10 V feels behind the times as a result, and difficult to recommend unless you’re sold on Sony’s styling, demand expandable storage, or find an especially good discount from the retail price.

Looking at the results based on my review, I do not understand why other reviewers give the Xperia 10 V such high scores. Okay, Sony impressed me in terms of build quality and included features like a microSD slot and a 3.5 mm headphone jack untouched. And yes, the Xperia 10 V fills an exciting niche with its lightweight form factor and 21:9 screen format. However, the Xperia 10 V is disappointing for a phone that resides in the $500 range. That is not my personal opinion, but the result of a quick look at the competition. The triple camera left much to be desired with its tiny sensors, both during the day and at night. The limited video resolution of 1080p is also a relic from older times. The phone looks just as antiquated in terms of quick-charging as well as the display, which has a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz.

In the DXOMARK Camera tests, the Sony Xperia 10 V performed well for landscape scenes shot without any motion and in good light. In such conditions, still images had a good level of detail and pleasant colors. However, image quality suffered in more challenging situations, for example, with motion in the scene or backlit subjects, where our testers observed a lack of detail, exposure issues and various unwanted image artifacts. Despite dedicated ultra-wide and tele cameras, the Sony’s zoom capabilities were fairly limited, with a lack of detail and a limited dynamic range that resulted in highlight clipping across the entire zoom range. Video quality lagged behind stills. While in bright light, colors were nice, there was a lack of detail as well as exposure instabilities in pretty much all recording conditions. Video stabilization was ineffective, too, resulting in noticeable camera shake.

The Xperia 10 V is a great budget phone. It perfects an already great formula, adding stereo speakers, a brighter display, a slightly better main camera, and keeping the same stunning battery life in a very compact and lightweight package. There are some omissions worth pointing out, though. The 60 Hz display refresh rate is a thing of the past, even on budget phones. The side-mounted fingerprint reader could use some R&D work, and the price tag is pushing things a bit. The Snapdragon 695 is getting old now, and the lack of 4K video recording and streaming is another blow to the Xperia 10 V. But overall, if you like the Xperia aesthetics and the 21:9 screen, don't care about refresh rates, and you need a "Mo Farah" rather than a "Usain Bolt", this phone is a great option.

Once again, not a lot has changed going from the Xperia 10 IV and even the 10 III to the new Xperia 10 V. That's both a good and a bad thing. If you are a fan of the iconic thin and tall, extra light design on the phone, there is just nothing else out there in the midrange space to offer an alternative. Similarly, the 21:9 display aspect ratio remains a pretty exclusive spotlight feature. Let's start with some positives first. The Xperia 10 V finally has a stereo speaker setup and a pretty good one at that - front-facing, well-balanced and decently loud, with a clean output. Making a return - the great ingress protection rating is hard to come by in the midranger space.
