Redmi has presented us with a small update of its predecessor Note 10S in the Note 11S model. Who is this smartphone for? For undemanding users who need a device for everyday use. If you’re looking for an inexpensive device with a good camera, rich specs, a smooth interface, a long-lasting battery, and NFC, the Redmi Note 11S is a good choice among the latest budget smartphones. Which Note 11 smartphone should I choose? The 11S is a mid-range variant between the basic Redmi Note 11 and the more advanced Redmi Note 11 Pro. The 11S has a 108MP main camera, which is much better than the 50MP of the base Redmi Note 11. In addition, the 11S version is aimed at demanding users, as the manufacturer does not offer a 4GB RAM variant, but provides faster speeds and better cameras. But if you want to play games on your phone in addition to everyday use, then you should pay attention to the Note 11 Pro.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11S 5G’s overall battery performance earned it a spot among the top 10 devices in our database. The default settings on the Redmi Note 11S 5G provided an excellent performance, with 3 full days of autonomy in moderate use as well as very good autonomy during all the on-the-go tests, especially when using social apps. But when it came to our calibrated tests, the performances were average. We believe this difference is due to the display’s low brightness level in default mode, which would provide more autonomy but could affect the user’s overall experience. The Redmi Note 11S 5G’s charging time was longer than average: It took 54 minutes to charge 80% of the large 5000 mAh battery, and 1 hour and 20 minutes to fully charge it. The charging power curve showed that the maximum power was 29.6W, never reaching the 33W advertised. However, thanks to its excellent autonomy, the Redmi Note 11S 5G recovered on average 4 hours and 44 minutes of usage after 5-minute charging, which is above the average of our database.

Honestly, this year has not been that good for the budget segment with brands nerfing their newer models in one aspect or the other. In Note 11S, it’s the Mali G57 GPU which is a step down from Note 10S’ quad-core Mali G76. There is no 4K recording as well. However, if you overlook these minor details, Redmi Note 11S is actually a decent mid-range phone for 2022, especially for multimedia consumption. It could have been better with some camera and software optimization. Still, there are some good alternatives if you have a little room to wiggle in your budget. The first suggestion would be the Note 10 Pro, which is marginally expensive but offer a 120Hz screen, a more premium design, and optimized cameras. You can also go with the latest Note 11 Pro 5G (Pro+ 5G in India) if you want 5G connectivity as well. There is also Poco X3 Pro for guys that really don’t care about AMOLED screen and want the best performance possible.

You'd find it hard to single out the Redmi Note 11S 5G from the myriad other Redmi Note 11s, and that's before considering their Poco counterparts. Names mean little in this lineup, and regional segmentation is the inherent limiting factor that determines what's available to you, though that might only help to a certain extent. In any case, the Redmi Note 11S 5G is a reasonably priced 5G-capable smartphone offered in Europe. In its cheapest trim level is among the most accessible ones. At that price point, it's easier to swallow its somewhat underpowered chipset, the relatively low max brightness of its display and the lack of 4K video recording - that being all too common in the budget segment this year. Conversely, you'll appreciate this Redmi's excellent endurance and nice stereo speakers, while the selfies are among the better ones in the class. Meanwhile, the rear camera's performance is neither spectacular nor terrible, and the charging speed is similarly where you'd expect it to be. At the price tier of the top memory configuration, however, superior alternatives exist.

For RM999, the Note 11S 5G is one of the best value-for-money devices in its price range. Compared to its other Note 11 siblings, the combination of its Dimensity 810 chipset and 90Hz screen makes it a snappy device while keeping your wallet happy. It's decent at running popular mobile games, excellent for everyday use, and has long-lasting battery life. This combination is hard to beat, especially for under RM1000. If your budget is within this price range, you can't go wrong with the Note 11S 5G. However, one thing you should definitely consider is whether you should spend a bit more for a better overall smartphone with another Redmi Note, the Note 11 Pro 5G (RM1199). The latter not only comes with a better 108MP main camera but also has a 120Hz AMOLED screen and a slightly better processor with the Snapdragon 695 5G. That's a lot of upgrades for just another RM200! Another option is the realme 9 Pro (RM1099). For just an additional RM100, it gives you a 6.6-inch 120Hz IPS screen, a slightly faster Snapdragon 695 5G SoC, and a better 64MP main camera.

With a starting price of Rs. 30,000, the phone offers a decent multimedia experience and gaming performance. Xiaomi has not compromised much on the aspect of day-to-day usage. However, Xiaomi needs to work on the phone’s camera as it is not as good as it seems on paper. I also would have liked the phone more had Xiaomi shipped with the latest software and a dedicated proximity sensor. Still, I believe that it is currently the best phone under Rs. 30,000 in Nepal. It has its weaknesses but the overall features are unmatched in this price range in Nepal right now.

As I noted in the beginning, the Redmi Note 11 lineup is a lot more complicated now. The price for this phone starts at Rs 16,499 going up to Rs 18,499. The competition includes the Vivo T1 5G, which has a slightly lower starting price point at Rs 15,990, though its most expensive version costs Rs 19,990. Plus, the T1 5G gets a 120 Hz display and Snapdragon 695 processor and is 5G ready. There’s also the Realme 9 Pro, though it starts at Rs 17,999 with a 120Hz refresh rate on the display, it has the same processor as the Vivo and 5G connectivity. So, if you are a user with a budget above Rs 16,000, the choices will leave you confused. The Redmi Note 11S’s strongest points are the performance and the camera, which will make it appealing for users in this segment. But it does have a lower display refresh rate and misses out on 5G connectivity. The latter though is not a deal-breaker in my view unless you need a device for the next two to three years.

Paying an extra Rs. 3,000, the Redmi Note 11S comes across as a decent deal for mobile gamers who still want the best of all worlds. From a lively AMOLED display to a fast-enough processor, good battery life, and a decent camera experience, the Redmi Note 11S delivers all that in a notably superior way than the regular Redmi Note 11. The cameras need some tweaking on Xiaomi's part and the fit-n-finish could have been better, considering last year's Redmi Note 10S still feels like a better built phone. Do note that, you don’t get 5G support on this phone, no Android 12 out-of-the-box, and it doesn’t record 4K videos which could be a letdown if you are looking for such traits in this budget. The Redmi Note 11S is a compelling offering and I feel that it certainly does its bit to justify the Rs 16,499 price tag. The design is slick, the display is awesome and the performance is decent. I do, however, strongly feel that Redmi should have tweaked its photography algorithms to get better low light shots. Also, the UI has some bloatware in the form of Mi-branded apps, and the phone still runs on the old Android 11. I feel that if you are willing to overlook these few drawbacks and aren’t inclined towards heavy gaming, the Redmi Note 11S can be a very good option.

In the short time I've spent using the Redmi Note 11S so far, I have found it to be well-built and fairly rugged. The bland design is a bit unappealing to me, but if you'll be using a case, this really shouldn't be an issue. My biggest concern though is how the Redmi Note 11S will fit into Xiaomi's existing lineup. We know that the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G launch is inevitable, as it has already been unveiled globally, and it might just arrive in India rebranded as the Redmi Note 11E. The Redmi Note 11 Series has increased in price if you compare to the previous gen. While I think the Redmi Note 11S is still decent enough, I sincerely think that they could do more. Seeing how the Redmi Note 11 Pro is just RM100 more (for the same storage configuration), there is arguement that you might as well go for that. With the Pro version, it runs on the same chipset but comes with a bigger display with 120Hz refresh rate plus a faster 67W fast charger instead. It doesn’t seem too bad of a deal if you went a bit extra and get the Pro instead. If you are interested on the Pro version, be sure to stay tuned to Pokde.net as we are in the midst of reviewing it.

Finally – the ultimate question is – should you buy the Redmi Note 11 or the Redmi Note 11S? Between these two phones, I can’t really pick for you. They both have their own strengths but they’re not significant enough to differentiate themselves from each other. I generally think both the phones have increased in terms of price – particularly the Reedmi Note 11S. When we compare with the last generation’s Redmi Note 10 and Redmi Note 10S, the differences are apparent. Otrzymujemy w nim bowiem solidny ekran OLED (FHD+, 120 Hz), dobrze sprawdzający się w tej klasie sprzętu, 200-megapikselowy moduł standardowy aparatu oraz pojemny akumulator z superszybkim ładowaniem 120 W. Niestety, patrząc na nowy smartfon z nieco bardziej krytycznej strony, w porównaniu do starszego Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G funkcjonalnie wiele się nie różni. Ma chipset o bardzo zbliżonej wydajności, dodatkowe 500 mAh akumulatora nie zwiększa realnie typowego czasu pracy, głośniki brzmią nawet nieco słabiej niż u poprzednika, a zmiana matrycy ze 108 MP na 200 MP, to w dużej mierze zabieg marketingowy — słaby chipset i tak istotnie ogranicza jej potencjał. Co więcej, w nowym smartfonie tracimy nawet niektóre z zalet Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, jak gniazdo dla karty pamięci czy radio FM.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G to smartfon co najmniej dobry – pod naprawdę wieloma względami. Należy do nich zaliczyć kulturę pracy, czas działania z daleka od gniazdka, czas ładowania, jakość zdjęć z głównego aparatu czy wreszcie przyjemne głośniki stereo (choć nieco płaskie) czy AMOLED-owy ekran. Ah! Nie można też zapominać o Jacku audio, które wcale nie jest oczywistym dodatkiem, podobnie zresztą, jak port podczerwieni. Co mi nie pasuje? Brak Androida 13 na start sprzedaży (i jednoznacznego, konkretnego info na temat wsparcia aktualizacjami), brak nagrywania w 60 fps w 4K, brak slotu kart microSD czy wreszcie pamięć tylko UFS 2.2. Czy to są porażające wady / braki, które są nie do przeskoczenia przez większość z nas? Nie sądzę. Trochę bardziej szkoda braku wodoszczelności większej niż IP53, ale cała reszta jest do przebolenia. Odnoszę wrażenie, że Xiaomi doskonale wiedziało, co robi, skupiając się na kompromisach akurat w tych obszarach, na które gros potencjalnych użytkowników smartfonów ze średniej półki nie zwraca uwagi. Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G jest naprawdę przyjemnym smartfonem. Jak trochę stanieje stanie się z pewnością łakomym kąskiem. Teraz zresztą też jest – zwłaszcza w niebieskiej wersji kolorystycznej.

To będzie pewnie pierwsze pytanie, jakie zadawać będzie część użytkowników na wieść, że smartfon w tej wersji po raz pierwszy przekroczył próg 2000 złotych. Należy jednak pamiętać, że producent chce z jego pomocą zredefiniować „średniaka”, dostarczając rozwiązania wcześniej niedostępne dla tej półki cenowej. I nie da się ukryć, że robi to całkiem skutecznie, bo Redmi 12 Pro+ 5G oferuje świetny wyświetlacz AMOLED, za sprawą którego codzienne użytkowanie smartfona to prawdziwa przyjemność, a w połączeniu z porządnymi głośnikami stereo zamienia się w małe centrum multimedialne, pozwalające cieszyć się codzienną rozrywką. Do tego możemy liczyć na ultarszybkie ładowanie 120 W, dzięki któremu ładowanie smartfona przestaje być uciążliwym obowiązkiem - niecałe pół godzinki i mamy 100 proc. naładowania baterii (a ładowarkę mamy w zestawie). Nie sposób nie wspomnieć także o obiektywie głównym 200 MP z PDAF i OIS, który mocno wyróżnia się w tej półce cenowej i może być głównym motorem napędowym sprzedaży Redmi 12 Pro+ 5G, bo do tej pory słyszeliśmy o podobnych rozwiązaniach jedynie w dużo droższych urządzeniach. Do tego sprzęt zapakowany jest w atrakcyjną szklaną obudowę, może się pochwalić nowoczesnym zapleczem komunikacyjnym z 5G i WiFi 6 czy takim miłym dodatkiem, jak gniazdo słuchawkowe 3,5 mm jack. A co poszło nie tak? Producent ma jeszcze pole do poprawy w zakresie fotografii nocnej czy obiektywu ultraszerokokątnego, trochę szkoda, że obudowa nie jest wodoodporna, bo IP53 gwarantuje tylko odporność zachlapania i kurz, czas pracy na baterii mógłby być dłuższy, a nakładka MIUI wciąż zawiera sporo bloatware’u i jest dość „agresywna”, a do tego siedzi na Androidzie 12, a nie nowszym 13.

No i cena, która w przypadku Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G wydaje się całkiem atrakcyjna, przynajmniej w kontekście szalejącej obecnie inflacji. Za telefon w polskich sklepach zapłacimy 2299 zł, w związku z czym na tle innych tegorocznych premier może się okazać bardzo atrakcyjną propozycją.

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ ma bardzo mocną specyfikację jak na średnią półkę, którą reprezentuje. Ekran trzyma bardzo wysoki poziom, główny aparat jest jednym z najlepszych w swojej klasie, podobnie jak bardzo szybkie ładowanie baterii. Te najważniejsze punkty programu uzupełniają głośniki stereo, czytnik linii papilarnych oraz duża pojemność pamięć RAM i ROM. Każdy z wymienionych aspektów jest warty ceny, jakiej żąda producent. Wydajność jest trochę poniżej oczekiwań i możliwości konkurencji, chociaż trudno to odczuć w codziennym użytkowaniu. Największym kompromisem są jednak dodatkowe aparaty. Aparat szerokokątny ma niską rozdzielczość i jest bardzo przeciętny. Za to aparat makro o rozdzielczości 2 megapikseli jest już całkiem nie na miejscu w telefonie w tej cenie. Redmi Note 12 Pro+ można polecić, bo jego zalety są warte wyższej ceny niż w modelu z zeszłego roku. Trzeba tylko pamiętać, że nie każdy element tego telefonu trzyma równie wysoki poziom.

It’s a shame they didn’t remove the macro camera, and spend the money on a better ultra-wide-angle camera, as this gives soft images. With this smartphone the key selling feature is the 200MP camera, and it feels like the other cameras have been added as an afterthought, after spending all the money on the main camera. This gives you a smartphone that is not very well rounded in terms of the cameras on offer.

All in all, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is a nice little package for S$569. The device’s fast charging, bright display, relatively long battery uptime, and decent imaging system are all great reasons to get one. Xiaomi shows how a decent phone doesn’t have to be obscenely expensive with this Redmi variant. A special mention goes to Xiaomi’s effort to ensure that the camera housing stays relatively slim, and still retains the 3.5mm audio port on the handset. Both details potentially affect a small group of users who still need these comforts. However, the midrange handset category is highly competitive, probably more than the premium or flagship phone categories. Even if Xiaomi chose a more powerful processor for the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, it would still see many competent rivals working hard to distract you from Xiaomi’s latest midrange efforts.

Overall, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is a decent smartphone with several premium features that have trickled down to the mid-range market. The 200MP primary camera is a big selling point delivering plenty of detail, but other mid-range phones with lower-megapixel sensors can take comparable-or-better pictures with less underwhelming peripheral cameras. Instead, I found the most significant advantage to be the super-fast 120W wired charging, which makes it an excellent choice for those who want an affordable phone that can juice up in literal minutes. And if you can overlook the bloatware, there are some pretty nice perks for media consumption. The sharp 120Hz AMOLED display and the Game Turbo mode for gaming are standout features. Ultimately, it feels like Redmi has put everything into those three departments at the expense of the rest.

There is no doubt that you are getting a lot of value from this SGD569 smartphone, and if you were really to purchase it, be also contented that you wouldn’t have to waste a cent on any of its features. You win some, you lose some. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ doesn’t isn’t the top-end high-performance smartphone that you are looking for. But at half the price and all the useful features of the flagship smartphone without the bells and whistles, I’m prepared to live contented with the tradeoffs. I don’t think any other smartphones in the market come close to the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ with the same feature set. The main camera gives the best results, so ultimately, despite this camera having a triple camera setup on the rear, it’s really only one camera that you’ll actually want to use. At this price point you could be looking at a Google Pixel 7a which has a proper dual camera setup on the back with a great main camera, and a good ultra-wide, as well as a good selfie camera. The 2MP macro camera is perhaps one of the most pointless additions ever made to a smartphone. The results are terrible, and you get better results from the main camera. It’s a shame they didn’t remove the macro camera, and spend the money on a better ultra-wide-angle camera, as this gives soft images. With this smartphone the key selling feature is the 200MP camera, and it feels like the other cameras have been added as an afterthought, after spending all the money on the main camera.

For its asking price, the Note 12 Pro+ is a very, very tempting choice, even with all the quirks that it has. This is the best way that I can put it: next time I’m hunting for a smartphone, I’ll certainly check out the latest Note Pro+ phone. And I’m annoyingly picky! The phone behaves and feels like a flagship, so long as you can forgive MIUI for acting out from time to time. And this recommendation is twice as valid if you are looking for a phone with an elaborate manual camera mode. In putting that price up beyond £400, however, Xiaomi is now swimming in even deadlier waters. It’s still very good, but it isn’t quite the paragon of value that it used to be.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G earned a good global score that was above the average of our database. Compared with the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, it offers an excellent charging experience thanks to its 120W charger but with a small weakness regarding to autonomy and efficiency. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G’s battery lasted slightly less than 2.5 days in moderate use, which is just above average in our database. When testing specific use cases, the autonomy was slightly below average overall, and decent when gaming, but the device showed mixed results when calling. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G’s device’s main strength is its charging performance. Charging took exactly 30 minutes and 43 seconds to fully replenish the battery, while a quick 5-minute charge provided an additional 10 hours and 27 minutes of autonomy. However, the device took nearly 5 minutes to get out of deep discharge, the state when the battery is depleted. This is a long time when compared with its full charging time of nearly 31 minutes, and when compared with other phones of similar charging powers. This could significantly affect the user who must wait 5 minutes just to turn on a device that had its battery run out. The device’s charge efficiency and its adapter were very good. But the residual power drained by the 120W charger when the fully charged device was plugged in or not was higher than average. The battery also drained higher discharge currents than average in almost all uses cases, especially when calling, indicating that the device is not well optimized. When compared with other devices from the High-End segment ($400-$599), the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G ranked above average, too. However, Its efficiency score was below average for this segment, even though its autonomy score was above average. The device’s charging performance was among the three best we have tested for this segment.

You’ll be saving some cash, and getting a phone which is truly capable. If you do need a brighter display and a bit different camera experience, however, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is a great choice.

Even though it has the design, display, and camera vouching, the experience is where the phone falters. It may make more sense to buy the Redmi Note 12 Pro, not the Pro+, as it offers the same package, just with a 50MP camera, for a relatively lower asking price of Rs 25,999.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G delivered an appreciable performance for a device in the High-End segment in our DXOMARK Camera tests. Good target exposure and accurate white balance were the camera’s main strengths. Photo rendering was particularly nice in low light, but the autofocus had issues in extreme low-light conditions. Our testers found the camera’s zooming capabilities to be generally poor, with high levels of noise, a loss of texture, and aberrations in ultra-wide and long-range tele shots. Video stabilization left room for improvement but was decent for the price point. Overall, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is an ideal device for capturing photos of static portrait scenes and video portraits in most light conditions.

There's no denying that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is a lot of phone for the money. 120W charging and a 120Hz display are something of a rarity at this price point, and a 200MP camera is unheard of. In reality, though, we're not sure that the 200MP camera quite lives up to the hype. Don't get us wrong, it's a very good camera, but we just don't think it's a huge step up from the IMX766 on the cheaper Pro model. The usual Xiaomi software quirks are present here, too, as is a lot of bloatware, and this takes away from the premium sheen of the rest of the device. Still, this is an affordable phone that can take great shots, has an excellent display and speakers, and offers snappy day-to-day performance. So long as you keep your photographic expectations realistic, we think you'll have a great time with the Redmi Note 12 Pro+.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is a great midrange smartphone with a catchy IP53-rated glass body and one excellent Dolby Vision display with 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth. We do appreciate the good sustained performance across the board, too. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ impressed us with photo and video quality from its 200MP primary, and even its basic 8MP ultrawide camera turned out to be one solid performer. The selfies aren't bad either. All of these mean the Note 12 Pro+ can be considered as a good cameraphone on a budget. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has a couple of weak points, of course. Xiaomi has retired the microSD expansion for this generation, and the chipset of choice could have been, say, the faster Dimensity 1300 instead of the 1080 model. We didn't like the dip in standby performance and the speaker quality since the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. All things considered, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ offers a lot of bang for its buck, inflation adjusted obviously, and any Redmi fan would be happy with this smartphone.

Redmi phones are regularly packed to bursting with hardware that you won’t find elsewhere for the same cash. The Note 12 Pro+ and its 200MP main camera are no exception. A big battery, rapid charging and a bright OLED display aren’t unheard of in mid-range phones, but this handset will take some beating on sheer pixel count. It can’t entirely convert that into high quality snaps, with low light images still showing noise and processing just a step behind the very best in the class. Rivals like the Google Pixel 6a, Nothing Phone 1 and Samsung Galaxy A54 certainly have more well-rounded sets of sensors – and the first two are also more affordable. Performance is on the money for a mid-tier phone, but arriving on an outdated version of Android is a bit disappointing. These sorts of phones are rarely without compromise, though. If a huge main camera sensor does it for you, that may be enough to overlook the drawbacks.

Which mid-range Xiaomi smartphone is best for you, and is the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G worth that extra cash? Here in the UK these mid-range phones are priced at £279, £339 and £449. Starting with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G, this feels like a very different phone to the others. Performance is more limited with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, although gaming is still possible, while the 48MP camera is rather basic. Apart from the AMOLED screen, there's not much to raise it above other budget phones, and expandable storage (plus the brighter display) is its major advantage in this comparison. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus and the Pro share more DNA, with a glass design, Dolby Vision display, stereo speakers and Dimensity 1080 gaming chops. However, the Plus edition serves up a 200MP HPX camera sensor, while the regular Pro offers Sony's IMX766. That's still a great shooter, although not quite as good in low light. So which Redmi Note 12 phone are you most tempted by?

Unboxing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G, the global edition of its upper-mid-range smartphone boasting 200MP camera tech, impressive gaming performance and 120W battery charging. Those specs are insane, although the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus does suffer from old software. Check out my reviews of the best mid-range phones of 2023 to see some of Xiaomi's biggest rivals right now. This affordable blower boasts premium hardware including Samsung's HPX camera sensor, which can take impressive low light photos. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G also offers a full gaming mode and can play Genshin Impact on higher graphics settings like the Realme 10 Pro Plus (another Dimensity 1080 smartphone). As for battery life, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus' 5000mAh cell seems to last all day with 120W charging to power back up in just 20 minutes from empty. Very impressive stuff outside of a flagship phone. However, while the specs are great, the Android 12 software and lack of long-term support means you may be swayed by the Samsung A54 5G instead. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G looks to be a tempting budget-focused smartphone that could easily compete with similarly-priced smartphones like Samsung’s Galaxy A34 not only in terms of display and battery life but camera performance with its high-res 200MP snapper. The 120W fast charging is also a very nice touch and something not seen often in the mid-range space. The downsides are par for the course when it comes to Xiaomi phones – the MIUI experience is very iOS-like, for better or for worse, and the phone comes with a lot of bloatware pre-installed. Still, I’m very interested in spending more time with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, and will deliver my final thoughts soon.

A lot seems to be riding on the 12 Pro Plus’ 200MP main camera, and while it's a big deal to see such a large camera in the mid-range, I’m just not convinced that it’s enough of an advancement to warrant the concessions that have been left in its wake. The less premium design and loss of a microSD card slot could be fatal mistakes when it comes to standing out among the throngs of similar mid-range competitors, not least of which is the more affordable Redmi Note 12 Pro. The tricky part is that almost every improvement offered by the 12 Pro Plus in battery capacity and performance is matched by the non-Plus model, with its only real edge coming from the 200MP camera and 120W fast charging. If you need to have these, the 12 Pro Plus could be the one to keep an eye on, but otherwise, I’m struggling to see how it’s going to prove to be the better value option of the two. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus will be releasing on 24 March and will cost £449. This is quite a bit pricier than the 11 Pro Plus, so the 12 Pro Plus really has its work cut out to prove its worth. For obvious reasons, I really liked using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. It packs everything you would want in a mid range phone and I don’t think Xiaomi has made any significant compromises this time. The 200MP camera takes great photos as it should and the high refresh rate AMOLED display offers a great display experience. The phone does not lag or shutter in everyday use and the performance was fantastic. Not to forget, the 120W fast charging support does wonders and quickly chargers the phone. I just wish that Xiaomi could have launched the phone with the latest Android 13 version. Now coming to the final decision, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is a great phone but is on the pricey side and I don’t know if people in India would be ready to shell out Rs 30000 for a Note series phone.

If you want a device for shooting, editing, and watching high-quality content, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is a no-brainer in its segment. That combination of camera, display, sound, and fast charging battery make it superb, while the steady Note-like performance in other departments make it a rock-steady proposition. Take away that camera, however, and things get a little unsteady. Devices like the Redmi K50i 5G, the Poco F4 5G and the iQOO Neo 6 5G that come with slightly lower price tags will appeal to those who want faster processors. They might not have a 200-megapixel snapper in their ranks, but their cameras are very capable ones, nevertheless. Even those users who want a great camera would be tempted by the Google Pixel 6a, which has received a price cut and is available for Rs 32,999. Another phone with a slashed price in Note waters is the rather unique Nothing Phone (1) (our Phone of 2022), which is available for Rs 27,999 and remains in a zone of its own, thanks to its design and interface. A point to be noted, however, is that neither the Pixel nor the Phone (1) comes with chargers in the box, leave alone with support for 120W charging. A challenger in that department is the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G, which is available for Rs 28,999 now and has an 80W charger in the box, competent cameras, a clean interface, and a Dimensity 1300 chip running the show. We think that buying the Redmi Note Pro+ 5G is really going to boil down to how much you value that 200-megapixel sensor. That is one department where any other device cannot match the phone as of now in the premium mid-segment. Love those megapixels, mega details, and mega-resolution images? The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is very much worth its mega price (by Note standards).

Either wait for the company to drop the prices, or go for the Nothing Phone (1), which is still our top pick under Rs. 30000. You can also check out the Google Pixel 6a if you value a great still photography experience. The iQOO Neo 6 is another great deal for those who value high performance.

My impression of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has been really positive and for good reason. The device checkmarks all aspects of a compelling sub-Rs 30,000 phone without having to compromise on a single aspect. It can be considered the definition of a wholesome experience with some wiggle room present as far as the device’s low-light photography is considered. I would question if the 200MP sensor was a real necessity as casual users are likely not to make the effort to dig around the camera settings to access the feature. Regardless the daylight point-and-shoot photography on the device is pretty much on point. Coupled with fast charging, reasonably good performance and robust build quality, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ can truly set a benchmark for future mid-range phones.

To co zaskakuje najbardziej, to jak bardzo są zbliżone do siebie oba modele z serii Redmi Note 12. Pierwszy model można kupić nawet za 899 zł, co plasuje go w najniższej półce cenowej. Drugi jest już wyceniony jak średniopółkowiec. Tymczasem oba telefony mają ten sam ekran AMOLED 120 Hz o wyjątkowo dużej jasności 1200 nitów, tę samą baterię 5000 mAh i ładowarkę o mocy 33W, a także prawie identyczny zestaw aparatów. Różnią się procesorem oraz pojemnością pamięci, ale różnica wydajności wynosi tylko 17% i nie jest odczuwalna podczas codziennego użytkowania. Cieszy fakt, że Xiaomi nie pozbawiło tańszego modelu Redmi Note 12 najważniejszych funkcji i właśnie ten model, ze względu na niższą cenę, wypada w tym porównaniu najlepiej. Nie działa to jednak na korzyść droższego modelu, który cenowo zaczyna wkraczać powoli na terytorium takich modeli jak POCO F3, z którymi nie może konkurować. Największymi brakami w obu modelach jest brak głośników stereo, dodany na siłę aparat makro oraz trochę zbyt słaby aparat szerokokątny.

Bohater dzisiejszej recenzji jest właśnie przykładem takiej sytuacji. Wygląd nowości jest dobry dla pogranicza niskich i średnich segmentów cenowych. Rozczaruje tylko gruba dolna ramka wyświetlacza i powszechne użycie plastiku, ale reszta zewnętrznych aspektów jest na wierzchu. Xiaomi has struck a pretty nice balance with this year's Redmi Note 12 4G. The handset has an excellent display, long battery life, sufficiently fast charging, adequate performance, the latest MIUI + Android combo (unlike its siblings) and, although largely unimpressive camera performance, it's still rather decent for the price bracket. We wish more work went toward optimizing the dedicated Night mode. We also wonder why Xiaomi removed the stereo speakers and the NFC. That last bit may be a deal-breaker for some of you who use the phone for contactless payments. For the most part, the Redmi Note 12 4G's competitors have either better performance and are considerably more expensive, or they fail to match the Redmi Note 12 4G's feature set for the same asking price. We believe that this phone will sit comfortably in the sub-€200 price bracket. If you are not satisfied with what the Redmi has to offer, we suggest increasing your budget's upper limit. That's the only way to get a better phone than this Redmi.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is a solid offer, one that brings a lot of meaningful updates over the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. The new model offers one of the best OLED screens in this price bracket - it's quite bright, offers more than a billion colors, and supports Dolby Vision. The new Dimensity 1080 chipset isn't a major update over the Dimensity 920 from last year, but it still provides enough punch and offers smooth and stable gaming. The camera experience and quality are consistently good across the board and we have no complains whatsoever. The things that weren't perfect on the Note 12 Pro are the average standby performance that affected the battery life, the retired microSD slot, and the lack of electronic stabilization for the 4K video capturing. The older Android 12 is somewhat a bummer, too, as the promise of two major OS updates now seems even less enticing. The Redmi Note 12 Pro is a nice looking phone and packs good specs for the price. Be it the powerful Dimensity 1080 chip or the super smooth 120Hz AMOLED display, everything is impressive. The battery easily lasts a whole day and the 67W fast charger is a great add-on. Moreover, you get 5G connectivity and NFC support. Being sleek and lightweight, there’s a lot of packed inside the phone. The 50MP main camera does a decent job of taking pictures. It’s not the best in photography but I can’t complain when it is clearly focusing on performance. Overall, the Redmi Note 12 Pro is a solid 5G smartphone for someone who wants powerful performance with a great display. In case you want a better camera and faster charging speeds, you can check out its bigger brother, the Note 12 Pro Plus. Other than that, the Note 12 Pro got everything a mid-range phone should have.

Jeśli mówimy o dostępnej w Polsce opcji z 4 GB pamięci RAM / 64 GB pamięci wewnętrznej, to za niecałe 800 złotych wciąż mamy stosunkowo duży wybór wśród modeli konkurencyjnych firm. Jeśli budżet podniesiemy o kolejnych 200 złotych (a zatem do wersji z 4 GB RAM / 128 GB pamięci), to okaże się, że mamy sporo urządzeń, które parametrami połykają tę propozycję Xiaomi w całości (wliczając w to zacne grono starszych modeli tego producenta). Dla mniej wymagającego użytkownika prawdopodobnie będzie to dobry smartfon, jednak muszę zaznaczyć, że testowany przeze mnie egzemplarz już na starcie potrzebował 2,4 GB pamięci RAM. Biorąc poprawkę na fakt, że poszczególne warianty Redmi Note 12 podobno niczym się nie różnią między sobą, nietrudno wyliczyć, że w wersji z 4 GB pamięci operacyjnej, do dyspozycji użytkownika pozostanie jedynie 1,6 GB.

To co zaskakuje najbardziej, to jak bardzo są zbliżone do siebie oba modele z serii Redmi Note 12. Pierwszy model można kupić nawet za 899 zł, co plasuje go w najniższej półce cenowej. Drugi jest już wyceniony jak średniopółkowiec. Tymczasem oba telefony mają ten sam ekran AMOLED 120 Hz o wyjątkowo dużej jasności 1200 nitów, tę samą baterię 5000 mAh i ładowarkę o mocy 33W, a także prawie identyczny zestaw aparatów. Różnią się procesorem oraz pojemnością pamięci, ale różnica wydajności wynosi tylko 17% i nie jest odczuwalna podczas codziennego użytkowania. Cieszy fakt, że Xiaomi nie pozbawiło tańszego modelu Redmi Note 12 najważniejszych funkcji i właśnie ten model, ze względu na niższą cenę, wypada w tym porównaniu najlepiej. Nie działa to jednak na korzyść droższego modelu, który cenowo zaczyna wkraczać powoli na terytorium takich modeli jak POCO F3, z którymi nie może konkurować. Największymi brakami w obu modelach jest brak głośników stereo, dodany na siłę aparat makro oraz trochę zbyt słaby aparat szerokokątny.

Mimo wszystko Xiaomi Redmi Note 12, to całkiem dobra propozycja na rynku. Patrząc po tym co dzieje się u konkurencji oraz z cenami (inflacja tutaj nie pomaga), to jednak testowany model nie utracił zbyt dużo względem poprzednika, ale też nie zrobił jakiegoś wielkiego progresu.

Podtrzymując słowa z początku recenzji, do Redmi Note 12 podchodziłam dość sceptycznie, jednak przez kilka wspólnych dni smartfon udowodnił, że jak na model do 1000 zł jest bardzo dobrym kompanem. Ma mocną baterię, co najmniej na dzień działania, szybkie ładowanie 33 W, ciekawe funkcje i ulepszenia wynikające z nakładki MIUI 14 oraz dobry aparat główny. Ale przede wszystkim zachwyca i wyróżnia się pięknym ekranem – z matrycą AMOLED i odświeżaniem 120 Hz. Największą wadą jest brak obsługi łączności 5G, które już na tej półce cenowej powinno być standardem. Jeśli natomiast na ten moment nie zależy Ci na takiej prędkość połączeń, śmiało możesz sięgać po tańszy wariant Redmi Note z serii 12.

In conclusion, the Redmi Note 12 isn’t a perfect device. Performance and software were a mixed bag, night photography isn’t great, and haptics left a lot to be desired. But while it has these shortcomings, the Note 12 is good — or even great — in arguably the most important aspects. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G’s battery performance placed in the upper part of our entire database. The Redmi Note 12 5G, equipped with an newer generation Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, outperformed its predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, especially in autonomy and efficiency, even though the battery was the same. The Redmi Note 12 5G’s autonomy was solid, with the battery lasting most than 2.5 days when used moderately and with a power loss of an average 1% per night. The results when testing individual use cases, such as watching videos, streaming music or gaming, were also good. The device’s on-the-go autonomy was decent, but slightly below average when using the navigation app. The charging experiences were a bit mixed. The time to fully charge the battery was fast, taking 1 hour and 12 minutes, but the autonomy recovered after a quick 5-minute charge came in slightly below average. The device’s charge efficiency was decent, but the adapter’s efficiency was excellent, showing low residual power drained whether the fully-charged device was plugged in or not. The battery’s discharge currents were low in the majority of our use cases, especially when streaming videos or music and when calling on the go, meaning that the device is well-optimized. Although the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G did well against all the phones in our database, when it was compared to devices from the same Advanced price range ($200-$399), its results were slightly above average. Its excellent efficiency was offset by the average autonomy and charging experiences for this segment.

The Redmi Note 12 5G doesn’t come cheap. The base 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the handset is selling in India at Rs 17,999, which is 25 percent higher than its predecessor Redmi Note 11. This puts the phone up against other contemporary smartphones such as OPPO A78 (review) and Realme 10 Pro 5G (review), which are priced at Rs 18,999 and run the latest OS Android 13 out of the box. Moreover, the Realme 10 Pro 5G has a better chipset and primary camera than the Redmi smartphone. All said and done, the Redmi Note 12 5G is as good a smartphone as it can get for the price. Barring a few shortcomings in low-light photography and software, there is little to complain about here. The handset delivers on almost every front, be it design, display, performance, or battery life. To further sweeten the deal, Redmi is offering Rs 1,500 cashback with an ICICI bank card and an extra Rs 1,000 off as an exchange bonus on old Redmi and Mi smartphones. If you club these offers, it will effectively bring the price of the Redmi Note 12 5G smartphone down to Rs 15,499.

W arsenale chińskiej firmy Xiaomi jest daleko od kilkunastu dobrych smartfonów, które mogą zaspokoić potrzeby najbardziej kapryśnych użytkowników. Jednak z biegiem czasu odbiorcy wymagają coraz większej funkcjonalności od urządzeń ze średniej, a nawet niskiej i średniej kategorii cenowej. I wygląda na to, że bohater dzisiejszej recenzji zdenerwuje kupujących pod tym względem, bo pod wieloma względami ustępuje nawet poprzednikowi. Wygląd nowości został nieco zaktualizowany. Zmieniła się kolorystyka i blok kamery, ramki ekranu stały się nieco cieńsze. Czytnik linii papilarnych nadal znajduje się z boku. Obudowa wykonana jest z tworzywa sztucznego, ale trudno doszukać się odporności materiału na zarysowania i odpryski, a w zestawie znajduje się silikonowe etui. 6,43-calowy ekran IPS posiada częstotliwość odświeżania 90 Hz, dzięki czemu płynność odtwarzanych treści jest zauważalnie wyższa. Niestety pod względem jasności i kontrastu sytuacja jest gorsza niż w przypadku dotychczas używanego panelu AMOLED, oleofobowa powłoka folii ochronnej i szkła jest mierna.
