Umiarkowana waga wynosząca 1,4 kg również nie daje powodów do narzekań, co oznacza, że nadal można wygodnie nosić ze sobą 14-calowe urządzenie. Jeśli chodzi o porty urządzenia, wciąż jest miejsce na poprawę. Chociaż 14-calowy laptop posiada łącznie cztery porty USB, nawet jego dwa porty typu C są zgodne tylko ze standardem 3.2 Gen 1 - choć obsługują DisplayPort 1.4 i Power Delivery 3.0. Jest też gniazdo audio, przestarzały port HDMI 1.4b i czytnik kart microSD. Konserwacja

Jego opcje konserwacji mocno przypominają te z Yoga Pro 7. Oznacza to, że jego dolna płyta jest utrzymywana przez 6 śrub Torx i kilka wsporników. W przeciwieństwie do swojego 14-calowego brata, Lenovo nie wdrożyło jednostki chłodzącej z dwoma wentylatorami - zamiast tego polega na jednym stosunkowo dużym wentylatorze. Moduł WLAN i dysk SSD są przykryte folią. Niestety, pamięć RAM jest przylutowana.

Klawiatura

Podobnie jak w Yoga Pro 7, urządzenia wejściowe IdeaPad Slim 5 zasługują na pochwałę. Jego klawiatura może pochwalić się dobrym układem (poza małymi środkowymi klawiszami strzałek), a klawisze mają dobry rozmiar. Na klawiaturze tej pisze się też lepiej niż na klawiaturach większości innych producentów, choć odgłos klawiszy jest dość głośny jak na klasyczny model z gumową kopułką. Nocne sesje pisania nie stanowią problemu dzięki zainstalowanemu białemu podświetleniu.

Panel dotykowy

Jego touchpad jest również dobry - jeśli zignoruje się nieco szorstko brzmiące obszary kliknięć. Rozmiar 12 x 7,5 cm jest przyzwoity dla 14-calowego urządzenia. W naszych testach nie mieliśmy żadnych problemów z precyzją lub obsługą gestów. Jego powierzchnia jest dość gładka, co oznacza, że palce przyjemnie się po niej ślizgają.

Wyświetlacz

Jeśli chodzi o wyświetlacze OLED, gusta są różne. Jeśli chcą Państwo spędzać dużo czasu korzystając z laptopa w jasnych pomieszczeniach lub na zewnątrz, to lepiej poszukać urządzenia z matowym wykończeniem. Odblaskowa powierzchnia naszej konfiguracji testowej często powodowała bardzo silne i nieprzyjemne odbicia.

Core Ultra 5 125H jest tańszym bratem Core Ultra 7 155H w Yoga 7 Pro i może obsługiwać 18 równoległych wątków zamiast 22. Jego częstotliwość taktowania i pamięć podręczna (18 vs 24 MB) są również nieco niższe. Mimo to Ultra 5 125H poradził sobie całkiem nieźle w naszych testach porównawczych. Karta graficzna

Procesor graficzny zintegrowany z Core Ultra 5 125H nosi nazwę Arc 7 i w porównaniu do Arc 8posiada 112 zamiast 128 silników wektorowych Xe i 7 zamiast 8 jednostek/samplerów ray-tracingu - nie jest to strasznie duża redukcja. Nic dziwnego, że IdeadPad Slim 5 był w stanie dotrzymać kroku urządzeniom opartym na Ultra 7 155H i (przynajmniej w syntetycznych testach graficznych) wyprzedził tylko Radeon 780M w Yoga Pro 7. Jeśli chcą Państwo od czasu do czasu pograć w gry, to i tak lepszym wyborem będzie Arc 8, gdyż kilka testowanych przez nas tytułów zawieszało się częściej niż inne (z identycznymi sterownikami) - przynajmniej przy wyższych ustawieniach, ale i tak gry nie byłyby wtedy grywalne.

Sytuacja robi się trudna, gdy próbujemy uruchomić wyjątkowo wymagające i/lub średnio zoptymalizowane gry, takie jak Alan Wake 2, Starfield, Lords of The Fallen, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora i Enshrouded. Tutaj nieuchronnie trzeba będzie użyć niższych rozdzielczości w zakresie HD lub skalowania w górę w postaci Intel XeSS (jeśli gry to obsługują). Emisja hałasu laptopa jest w porządku, ale nie jest zbyt imponująca. W trybie bezczynności i podczas wykonywania prostych zadań, takich jak praca biurowa, odtwarzanie filmów i surfowanie po Internecie, jego emisja hałasu jest w porządku i wynosi około 30 dB(A). Jednak pod obciążeniem 14-calowe urządzenie jest głośniejsze niż konkurencja z Arc 8 - i to pomimo słabszej wydajności, choć 40-45 dB(A) jest nadal w porządku. Jeśli zależy nam na czymś cichszym, to warto skorzystać z trybu oszczędzania baterii, choć wtedy wydajność laptopa jest mocno ograniczona.

Test warunków skrajnych

Test obciążeniowy przy użyciu narzędzi Furmark i Prime95 nie ujawnił żadnych przykrych niespodzianek. Chociaż Core Ultra 5 125H na początku osiągnął 100°C, jego temperatura szybko wyrównała się do niealarmującego poziomu 80°C. Jeśli są Państwo w stanie pogodzić się z odblaskową powierzchnią wyświetlacza, to IdeaPad Slim 5 14IMH9 jest udanym laptopem uniwersalnym/multimedialnym pod niemal każdym względem. Procesor Core Ultra 5 125Hw większości przypadków okazał się sukcesem. Dzięki jego Arc iGPUintel w końcu dogonił Radeon 680M i 780M po wielu latach pozostawania w tyle - choć AMD mogłoby już ponownie wysunąć się na prowadzenie, gdyby nie spoczęło na laurach.

Niezależnie od tego, Lenovo zrobiło wiele dobrego ze swoim IdeaPad Slim 5 14.

Jego obudowa sprawia wrażenie wysokiej jakości i oferuje lepszą klawiaturę w porównaniu do tego, co zwykle można dostać w tej klasie cenowej. Waga, żywotność baterii i emisja spalin również nie dają powodów do narzekań. Z drugiej strony, wielu potencjalnych nabywców może odstraszyć fakt, że jego pamięć RAM jest przylutowana, co uniemożliwia jej rozbudowę. Ponadto, trzeba będzie zadowolić się przeciętnym dźwiękiem i nieco przestarzałym wyborem portów (brak Thunderbolt 4, tylko HDMI 1.4b).

Podsumowując, 14-calowe urządzenie nie otrzymało oceny "bardzo dobrej", tak jak np HP Spectre x360 14 lub wersja Intel/AMD z Yoga Pro 7 14 zarządzany. Jego ogólna ocena jest bardziej podobna do ZenBook 14 od Asusa, który jest (również) droższy.
